Effects of using multi-vide ruler kit in the acquisition of numeracy skills among PROTIM students
One effective way to teach arithmetic more interestingly and make it easier to learn is through the use of instructional materials. These can help students master certain mathematical skills, particularly multiplication and division, often considered difficult amongst primary school pupils. Nevertheless, the insufficiency of appropriate instructional materials causes difficulty in understanding how to use the proper technique or apply the concept, especially in multiplication. With this in mind, this study investigated whether the innovative and creative instructional material designed to assist and enhance numeracy skills, namely the Multi-vide Ruler kit, could increase students' ability in solving multiplication and division questions and whether it affected their interest in solving numeracy problems. Participants in this study included ten PROTIM (Program Tiga M [Three M Program] - membaca [reading], menulis [writing] dan mengira [calculate]) students, 9-10 years old, who had difficulties in reading, writing and arithmetic. In order to get appropriate support for qualitative research, a pre and post-test containing ten basic mathematical operations, was implemented together with the Multi-vide Ruler Kit. The findings of the qualitative case study, with the pre and post-tests, showed significant differences in their achievement and interest in two-digit multiplication and division operations. The results suggest that this approach could improve PROTIM student's ability to solve basic mathematical operations. What was most encouraging was the increase in students' interest in solving numeracy problems
Application of Python-OpenCV to detect contour of shapes and colour of a real image
Abstract: OpenCV-Python has found its use in various fields during the course of its development, especially in the shape and colour detection of an actual image. It is more reliable to make a better and faster decision. So, OpenCV and Python are increasingly finding their application in the shape and colour detection of the images. In this following work, we will focus on how to detect the shapes and colour of a binary image by using Python 3.8, OpenCV 4.5, and Numpy 1.19.3 resources. This research is investigated in two steps process. Firstly, the image has been processed to detect the various shapes and colors of an image's specific shape. Secondly, catching the colour of an actual image by using our model.
Keywords: OpenCV, Python, Numpy, Computer vision, shape and colour detection.

Exploration and Analysis of the collage of represented ‘Truth’: Variations in the narratives of Operation Blue Star
“Punjab is not just a state. It is a state of mind... It is sometimes hard to find out where politics ends and religion begins.”- M.V.Kamath1 The Operation Blue Star is considered as one among the major political as well as historical events witnessed by the Indian state ever since independence. And like all major historical events are narrated based on the dynamics of locatedness of the author and the receptive tendency of the targeted audience, the narration of the Operation Blue Star follows the same trajectory. Therefore, there is a subterranean level of politics within the engagement in historiography and it is important to be investigated if not completely arrive at a speculative understanding altogether. There have been theories which mention that the truth is narrated by ones holding the seat of power. But the important point here in this paper is to understand how historiography differs within the ones with a dominant voice and how the same event is narrated differently by different narrators to give varying shades to the same event. The paper will delve into how historiography has a relation with the author’s socio-cultural and professional location, and will also look at how his/her ideological and subjective viewpoints re-orient and re-defined the actual event. The authors give a particular fact their subjective shade of understanding to glorify and magnify certain details and overlooks or trivialize certain others. So, down the generations when these various shades percolate down as sanctioned or canonised versions of reality, the reader actually gets a distorted picture of reality under the iron veil of apparent similarities and coherence
A society based research to assess adherence of antiretroviral therapy
Access Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy. A community-based antiretroviral (ART) drugs adherence study was conducted in Kolkata, India beginning in January and concluding in March 2011. This study was designed to explore the level of adherence as well as factors influencing adherence to ART by those who are receiving treatment through a public health care delivery system. This health care system is implemented through the National AIDS Control Program in the state of West Bengal, India. The research findings showed a high degree of non-adherence, between 48-52%, among the ART recipients. The analysis highlights a number of key factors negatively influencing adherence including long waiting time at the ART center, distance from residence to ART Centre, travel related expenditure, and fear of being identified as HIV + to family members and neighbors. Some positive influences were identified in the data as well. If a person is a member of a positive people network there is a greater chance for adherence as well as if an individual self-identifies as positive to others. However, no single factor, rather a combination of several factors, proved to be responsible for influencing ART adherence among recipients.

Development and Pilot Testing of Daily Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Calls to Support Antiretroviral Adherence in India: A Mixed-Methods Pilot Study
This two-phase pilot study aimed to design, pilot, and refine an automated interactive voice response (IVR) intervention to support antiretroviral adherence for people living with HIV (PLH), in Kolkata, India. Mixed-methods formative research included a community advisory board for IVR message development, 1-month pre-post pilot, post-pilot focus groups, and further message development. Two IVR calls are made daily, timed to patients’ dosing schedules, with brief messages (<1-min) on strategies for self-management of three domains: medical (adherence, symptoms, co-infections), mental health (social support, stress, positive cognitions), and nutrition and hygiene (per PLH preferences). Three ART appointment reminders are also sent each month. One-month pilot results (n = 46, 80 % women, 60 % sex workers) found significant increases in self-reported ART adherence, both within past three days (p = 0.05) and time since missed last dose (p = 0.015). Depression was common. Messaging content and assessment domains were expanded for testing in a randomized trial currently underway

Consistent Condom Use by Married and Cohabiting Female Sex Workers in India: Investigating Relational Norms with Commercial Versus Intimate Partners.
This study examines determinants of consistent condom use (CCU) among married and cohabiting female sex workers (FSW) in India. Although CCU with clients is normative in the study area, most FSW do not consistently use condoms with intimate partners. Multiple logistic regression models indicated that condom use with intimate partners was associated with relationship status, cohabitation, HIV knowledge, STI symptoms, and being offered more money for sex without a condom by clients. Additionally, more days of sex work in the last week, serving as a peer educator, and participating in community mobilization activities were associated with higher odds of CCU across all partner types. Although improving economic security may increase CCU with clients, mobilization to reduce stigma and promote disclosure of sex work to non-cohabiting partners may be necessary to increase CCU overall
Tuning of regimes during two-phase flow through a cross-junction
We investigate the dynamics of two immiscible fluids in a cross-junction via three-dimensional numerical simulations using the volume of fluid approach to track the dispersed phase's evolution. Different regimes, namely the dripping, squeezing, and jetting dynamics, have been observed for different dimensionless parameters, and we unveil a transition in regimes due to the concomitant interplay of capillarity, viscosity, and wettability. Our results reveal that hydrophobic channel surfaces favor a transition from squeezing to dripping behavior at a lower value of the capillary number. Moreover, higher viscosity ratios advance the process of squeezing, necking, and breakage on hydrophobic surfaces. A wettability-capillarity regime map is also presented that will have significant implications regarding the choice of substrate wettability, fluid properties, and flow rate in droplet dispensing devices. © 2021 Author(s)
