    Modern societies view women as equal to men, especially in government. conversely, societies with traditional stigmas view women as having power only in the domestic sphere. Historically, Javanese women, particularly in the ancient Javanese era, held a strategic position in shaping government policy. This is evident in the presence of Gayatri Rajapatni in the Majapahit Kingdom. Gayatri served as an advisor to the king and a policy maker, although she was not legally the queen. This study aims to determine the leadership strategy of Gayatri Rajapatni, a figure behind the success of Majapahit. This study used historical research methods and resulted in an analysis of Gayatri Rajapatni's leadership strategy in building the Majapahit Empire. The author concludes that Gayatri Rajapatni employed various leadership strategies to implement her vision for Majapahit's glory, namely by developing tactics and leadership patterns inherited from her father (Kertanegara)

    Modified Pal Interpolation And Sampling Bilevel Signals With Finite Rate Of Innovation

    Sampling and interpolation are two important topics in signal processing. Signal processing is a vast field of study that deals with analysis and operations of signals such as sounds, images, sensor data, telecommunications and so on. It also utilizes many mathematical theories such as approximation theory, analysis and wavelets. This dissertation is divided into two chapters: Modified Pal´ Interpolation and Sampling Bilevel Signals with Finite Rate of Innovation. In the first chapter, we introduce a new interpolation process, the modified Pal interpolation, based on papers by P ´ al, J ´ oo´ and Szabo, and we establish the existence and uniqueness of interpolation polynomials of modified ´ Pal type. ´ The paradigm to recover signals with finite rate of innovation from their samples is a fairly recent field of study. In the second chapter, we show that causal bilevel signals with finite rate of innovation can be stably recovered from their samples provided that the sampling period is at or above the maximal local rate of innovation, and that the sampling kernel is causal and positive on the first sampling period. Numerical simulations are presented to discuss the recovery of bilevel causal signals in the presence of noise

    Fractal Interpolation

    This thesis is devoted to a study about Fractals and Fractal Polynomial Interpolation. Fractal Interpolation is a great topic with many interesting applications, some of which are used in everyday lives such as television, camera, and radio. The thesis is comprised of eight chapters. Chapter one contains a brief introduction and a historical account of fractals. Chapter two is about polynomial interpolation processes such as Newton s, Hermite, and Lagrange. Chapter three focuses on iterated function systems. In this chapter I report results contained in Barnsley s paper, Fractal Functions and Interpolation. I also mention results on iterated function system for fractal polynomial interpolation. Chapters four and five cover fractal polynomial interpolation and fractal interpolation of functions studied by Navascués. Chapter five and six are the generalization of Hermite and Lagrange functions using fractal interpolation. As a concluding chapter we look at the current applications of fractals in various walks of life such as physics and finance and its prospects for the future

    Calculation of collision probability for autonomous vehicles using trajectory prediction

    The aim of this thesis is to create a decision making algorithm. The goal would be to check the feasibility of the current maneuver by nding the probability of collision between the subject and target vehicles. These outputs can be used by other Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features including path planner, lateral control, longitudinal control, etc. We make use of some sensors like camera/radar (simulated data) and fuse these together for better estimation of measurements. With earlier experience with cameras, they are really poor at giving longitudinal distances whereas radars give more accurate measurements longitudinally. Using these measurements about targets ahead in the environment, we predict the trajectories of the obstacles/targets as well as the subject vehicle (autonomous vehicle). The algorithm predicts if it is safe to continue with the current maneuver in the near future for several seconds ahead of time, and makes the decision if the maneuver is possible. The results are obtained using probabilistic approach whether the future trajectories are going to collide. The thesis primarily focuses on target tracking, e cient sensor data fusion and future collision estimation. With the lessons learnt using existing literature an e cient approach is employed. The simulation is performed in PreScan simulator and MATLAB. Enhancements in the sensor data fusion using standby measurements and quasi-decentralized approach to combine measurements to yield improved results and achieve better scalability are proposed and implemented.M.S.Includes bibliographical referencesby Gayatri Powa

    Anesthesia for awake craniotomy: A retrospective study

    Context: Awake craniotomy is increasingly performed the world over. We share our experience of performing craniotomy awake with our anesthetic protocol. Aims: To evaluate and analyze the anesthesia records of the patients who underwent awake craniotomy at our institution. Settings and Design: University teaching hospital, Retrospective study. Materials and Methods: We reviewed records of the 42 consecutive patients who underwent awake craniotomy under conscious sedation using Fentanyl and Propofol infusion until December 2005. The drugs were titrated (Bispectral monitoring was used in 16 patients) to facilitate intermittent intraoperative neurological testing. All patients received scalp blocks with a mixture of bupivacaine and lignocaine with adrenaline. Haloperidol and ondansetron were administered in all patients at induction of anesthesia. Results: All patients completed the procedure. One patient each needed endotracheal intubation and LMA for airway control during closure, while another required CPAP perioperatively because of desaturation to 0.05) with the use of BIS as compared to without BIS. Intraoperative complications were hypertension (19%), tight brain (14.2%), focal seizure (9.5%) respiratory depression (7.1%), deep sedation (7.1%), tachycardia (7.1%) and bradycardia. Two patients desaturated to <95%. 23.8% patients developed transient neurological deficits. The most frequent postoperative complications were PONV (19%) and seizures (16.6%). Conclusions: With the use of advanced monitoring and newer anesthetics, awake craniotomy is a relatively safe procedure with an accepted rate of complications
