Frequency combs in III-V/SiN integrated hybrid lasers with narrowband mirror
We address the dynamics of a III-V/SiN external cavity hybrid laser with a frequency-selective mirror. Simulations through a set of time-delayed algebraic equations accounting for the narrowband SiN mirror reflectivity demonstrate that CW instability occurs when relaxation oscillations become resonant with the beating between longitudinal modes. In the CW unstable regime, we observe the emergence of frequency combs due to four wave mixing, characterized by a modulation of amplitude and frequency. We then characterize the resulting combs in terms of achievable bandwidth. These results are also confirmed through a more accurate time-domain traveling wave model

ZedPhos Ru(II)/Diamine complexes in asymmetric reduction of carbonyl groups.
The asymmetric catalysis by transition metal complexes is recognized an alternative strategy for the preparation of compounds which were believed to be impossible to carry out by conventional methods. The greater part of the transition metals known as excellent catalysts for asymmetric synthesis have optically active diphosphine as source of chiality but in spite of the great variety of chiral ligands available, there is still demand for the development of catalysts which display the requirements of high enantioselectivity, diastereoselectivity and productivity in fine chemicals, fragrances, flavours, agrochemicals1.
We have recently prepared two ligands derived from chiral olefins in Z-geometry2, nicknamed ZedPhos by ourselves(a (R,R)-ZedPhos and b(R,R)-Xilyl ZedPhos).
We have investigated the stereodifferentiating ability of these ligands in Hydrogen Transfer (HT) and Asymmetric Hydrogenation (AH) of carbonyl compounds in the presence of achiral diamine (ampy), and chiral (R,R) or (S,S)-1,2-diphenyletylen diamine (DPEN). By comparison we have prepared the hydrogenated analogous3, (2R,5R) -2,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)hexane c, to investigate the possible fate of the the double bound on the ligand. e.e.% up to 82% was obtained in the reduction of acetophenone.

Self-Generation of Optical Frequency Combs in III-V/SiN External Cavity Laser with Frequency-Selective Mirror
In recent years, laser sources based on hybrid integration have been attracting surging interest for their compatibility with silicon photonic (SiPh) platforms making them the key components for many applications in optical communication and sensing. Furthermore, this technology is appealing for the realization of optical frequency combs (OFC) [1] at chip scale [2]. In this contribution, we address the dynamics of III-V/SiN hybrid lasers with high-Q SiN rings (Fig. 1a), providing a narrowband effective reflectivity (/reff/2 in Fig. 1c). Our model makes use of time-delayed algebraic equations accounting for mirror frequency selectivity [4]
