CONTENT VALIDITY ANALYSIS OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS’ NEEDS QUESTIONNAIRES FOR ENGLISH READING MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT
This study aimed to evaluate the content validity of English reading material needs questionnaires for chemical engineering students based on critical thinking abilities. The ADDIE model was modified for the Research and Development (R & D) plan that includes this investigation. In the analysis phase, questionnaires are created to define the issue and pinpoint its origin. The questionnaires are divided into three sections. The purpose of the first section is to learn more about the individual identities of the respondents. The second part of the survey tries to find out respondents' levels of proficiency in reading English-language literature as well as their motivations for learning the language. The final section consists of six questions, including how crucial it is to engage in critical thinking activities in order to comprehend English texts, the importance of reading strategies, learning strategies, text types, and the teacher's role. Two experts validate the content of the research tools used for the requirements analysis tests. Gregory's formula is used to assess the expert judgments' data. The results of the study showed that both raters agree with the aspects of personal background, purpose of learning English, students' ability level, Critical thinking activities in understanding English texts, reading techniques, and learning techniques. Both raters also agree on the aspect of 'text types' and 'lecturer's role'. All of the items of the aspects of chemical engineering students' needs questionnaires for English reading materials development are valid and can be distributed without any significant revisions.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CHARACTER MAP STRATEGY IN TEACHING STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION AT UPT SPF SMPN 17 MAKASSAR
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and response of students to the application of the map strategy character on the reading comprehension ability of class IX UPT SPF SMPN 17 Makassar. This research applied a pre-experimental research in one class pre-test and post-test. The population of this research is class IX students of SMPN 17 Makassar in the academic year 2021/2022 which consists of 165 students. The researcher took one class as a sample in this study namely class IX which consisted of 33 students. The instrument of this research is a multiple choice test. The results of this study indicated that there is a significant increase in the average score of students' reading comprehension between the pretest and posttest. The mean score of students' reading comprehension increased from 64.24 in pre-test to 79.63 in post-test. This shows that by using the character map strategy the students' reading comprehension ability increases. So this shows that the hypothesis H_1 is accepted and of course the hypothesis H_0 is rejected. The researcher concludes that the effect of using character strategy as a teaching strategy in learning English improves students' understanding ability
AN ANALYSIS THE USE OF KAHOOT MEDIA IN THE COOPERATIVE GRAMMAR LEARNING PROCESS AT SCHOOL
This study aimed to analyze the use of Kahoot media in cooperative grammar learning through the students' learning process at school. Data collection techniques used literature study. Researchers took seven articles and then analyzed them qualitatively. The results showed that the use of Kahoot media in the cooperative grammar learning process has a positive impact on students. Students continued to be ambitious in learning even before learning began. Students' grades were better at capability. They performed fewer mistakes and were more enthusiastic. The learning condition was fun and effective in motivating students in learning, especially learning foreign languages. Therefore, it is suggested to use Kahoot as a medium of the teaching-learning process. STUDENTS SATISFACTION ON BILINGUAL PROGRAM IN MAKASSAR
The objectives of the research were (1) to describe the students satisfaction on bilingual program at secondary school in Makassar and (2) to find out the students’ interest and motivation in learning English through Bilingual Program. The researcher applied mixed method namely triangulation mixed method design (QUAN-QUAL). The population of this research was the students of SMPN 12 Makassar in academic year 2015/2016. This research used purposive sampling. The sample of this research consisted of 40 students; 20 students from seventh grade and 20 students eight grade. In this research also, the researcher took 40 parents and 10 teachers as a sample. The research data were collected by questionnaire which was analyzed by descriptive statistic through SPSS version 16 for windows program. The result of data analysis shown that bilingual program improve English students skills, bilingual program makes the students mastery in English and learn it in their subjects matter (Mathematics, Science, and English). Bilingual also makes the students have better skills in learning English and, bilingual program has helped the students to develop as a person (students’ personality). The implementation of bilingual program at secondary school make the students are interested and motivated in learning English. THE INFLUENCE OF USING TED-TALK MEDIA ON STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL
This research is aim to find out whether there is a significant influence of using Technology, Entertainment, and Design) TED-Talk media on students’ speaking skill. This research uses the pre-experimental research method. The population of this research is students of the second-grade of IPA 3 of SMAN 1 Mamuju in academic year 2021/2022. The number of the sample are 20 students. The researcher collected the data by giving pre-test, treatment, post-test, and questionnaire. The data of this research is analyzed by SPSS 24 version. The researcher conludes that there was significant influence of using TED-Talk media on students’ speaking skill. It supported by the results of mean score in pre-test and post-test. The mean score in pre-test was 42.60, while in post-test was 79.00. The results of this study shows that the significance value is 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. It shows that the the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. This means that there are significant influence of using TED-Talk on students’ speaking skill
IMPLEMENTING CURRICULUM 2013 IN ENGLISH LESSON AT SMPN 52 MAKASSAR
The objectives of this study were to find out The Implementation teaching learning planning of 2013 curriculum. The research was qualitative method. The sample of the research was English teachers of SMPN 52 Makassar. The data of this research were collected by using triangulation technique by combining observation, interview, and documentation technique. The writer used observation guidelines sheet in analyzing the data collected and monitor. The writer used interview guidelines and recorder to record the interviews. The obtained data was analyzed in three major phases namely data reduction, data display and conclusion. This Result of this study shows that English teachers has already implemented learning the 2013 curriculum in class well. And then, prepare learning tools are in accordance with the standard 2013 curriculum. It can be proved by formation learning tools
INCREASING STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL IN WRITING PARAGRAPH THROUGH OUTLINE TECHNIQUE OF SECOND GRADE AT SMPN 35 MAKKASAR
The research aimed to find out whether the use of outline techniques can increase students’ writing skill in writing paragraph descriptive text of second grade at SMPN 35 Makassar. Design of the research was pre experimental method with three steps such as pre-test, treatment and post-test one class. This research was conducted at SMPN 35 Makassar by deciding second grade as population and choosing class VIII.3 which amount 25 students as a sample. Technique of collecting data was done by giving test. In analyzing the numerical data the writer used SPSS 16. Based on the data analysis, the writer can concluded that use outline technique can increasing students writing skill. It can be proved by the mean score of the students in pre-test and post-test. The results of the research showed that the use of outline technique in writing paragraph significantly increased students writing skill in writing paragraph descriptive after did treatment. The mean score increased from 47,52 in pre-test to 69,80 inpost-test. The writer can conclude that the use of the outline technique can increase students’ writing skill of Second Grade of SMPN 35 Makassar
Practicality and Validity of the Instructional Speaking Materials Developed Based on CLT
This study focuses on developing instructional speaking materials for the Non-English students department in the classroom setting. Besides, the objectives of this study were to develop a teaching model through CLT-Based and develop the existing speaking materials into a new design course book or module of instructional speaking materials while finding out how the practicality and validity of the new teaching module or a new course book of instructional speaking materials based on CCLT-Based. This study was conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The research methodology is research design and development (RD). The data collection is conducted with questionnaires and interviews. The collected and gathered data are analyzed through quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative data are gained from distributing questionnaires to students and lecturers to understand the new teaching model and the new course book content. The results of the questionnaire and interview show the qualitative aspect. The experts’ judgments, comments, and opinions poured on practical and valid data by two experts related to their assessments of the materials using the Likert scale. The result findings of this study presented a new teaching model of CCLT to help another lecturer in teaching speaking English in the context of Non-English education, presented instructional speaking materials of CCLT that have been developed through CLT-Based instruction to help students to help students in improving their daily speaking around the activities in campus
THE EFFECT OF THE FLIPPED CLASSROOM MODEL ON STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL IN CLASS XI SMA NEGERI 18 MAKASSAR
This study aimed to know the effect of the flipped classroom model on students' writing skill in class XI SMA Negeri 18 Makassar. This study focused on pre-experimental research one group pre-test and post-test. The population in this study were students of class XI SMAN 18 Makassar. The writer took 270 students as the population. A random sampling technique was used to take one class as the research sample, totaling 30 students. Data obtained from writing test. The results of this study used inferential analysis of the t-test by SPSS v.16, which showed a significant effect on the students’ mean score writing skill between the pretest and post-test. The mean score of the students’ writing enhanced from 52.33 in the pretest to 82.03 in the posttest. The significance value calculated 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 (P-value = 0.000 < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the flipped classroom model is effect applied to students’ writing skill in class XI at SMA Negeri 18 Makassar
THE EFFECT OF USING FONDI APPLICATION ON STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL
This study aims to analyze the effect of using Fondi application on students’ speaking skill at SMP Kemala Bhayangkari Makassar. The focus is on understanding how digital tools can influence language acquisition in a classroom setting. This research employed a quantitative method with a pre-test and post-test design. The subject of this study consist of 33 eight-grade students, whose speaking skill were assessed before and after using the Fondi application over a specified period. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ speaking skill, with the average of pre-test score increasing from 48.18 to 82.42 in the post-test. These findings suggest taht the Fondi application is effective in enhancing students’ speaking skill and creating a more supportive learning environment
