(p, alpha) reactions on 1p, 2s-1d shell nuclei

    No full text
The 12C(p, α)9B and 32S(p, α)29P reactions have been studied at incident energies of 42.77 and 41.9 MeV, respectively. The experimental (p, α) relative cross sections are well reproduced by distorted wave direct pickup calculations with a semimicroscopic form factor and current shell model wave functions. A comparison between (p, α) and (3He,d) spectra on 1p and 2s-1d shell nuclei, leading to the same final nucleus, shows a clear evidence of a dominant pickup process over the knockout mechanism in the dynamics of the (p, α) reaction

Interpolation of Spatial and Spatio-Temporal Gaussian Fields using Gaussian Markov Random Fields

    No full text
This paper considers interpolation on a lattice of covariance-based Gaussian Random Field models (Geostatistics models) using Gaussian Markov Random Fields (GMRFs) (conditional autoregression models). Two methods for estimating the GMRF parameters are considered. One generalises maximum likelihood for complete data, and the other ensures a better correspondence between fitted and theoretical correlations for higher lags. The methods can be used both for spatial and spatio-temporal data. Some different cross-validation methods for model choice are compared. The predictive ability of the GMRF is demonstrated by a simulation study, and an example using a real image is considered

[EN] As an open research and innovation hub, the one6G Association aims to develop, promote and demonstrate the enabling technologies for the next 6th generation mobile communication system (6G). By supporting global research and standardization efforts, the goal is to contribute to the development, adoption, and overall market penetration of 6G, while addressing societal and industry-driven needs for enhanced connected mobility. Additionally, the ambition is to develop new services and applications for the 6G era, with focused domains such as advanced autonomous driving, smart manufacturing, advanced wireless e-health, remote education, etc.Alonistioti, N.;Cardona Marcet, Narciso;Waldemar, P.;Trivisonno, R. Adaptive network reliability for human-robot interaction in beyond 5G industrial applications

    No full text
Wireless private networks based on 5G (and beyond) connectivity represent a flexible high capacity solution for future smart industrial environments. In this context, the presence of both humans and robots introduces extremely high reliability requirements in network control and management, for safety reasons. In this paper, a novel technique is described, based on real-time, dynamic management of radio bearer redundancy according to reciprocal human-robot positions, that is shown to improve network availability and reliability with the purpose of safe mobility in the industrial environment. Results obtained by simulation show that the current number of radio bearers supported by 5G radio systems may not be sufficient to meet stringent reliability requirements of critical applications

Development of functional spaghetti enriched with long chain omega-3 fatty acids

    No full text
Results concerning the production of spaghetti enriched in long chain (LC) n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and in particular eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexanoic acid (DHA) are reported. Pasta enrichment was obtained by the addition of different amounts of integrator (0.6%, 1.2%, 1.8%) containing EPA (C20:5 n-3) and DHA (C22:6 n-3) in a microencapsulated form to commercial semolina. The addition of 1.2% integrator yielded spaghetti that provides about 20% of the recommended daily intake of LC n-3 PUFA with high sensorial acceptability and low loss of LC n-3 PUFA after cooking (< 10%). Thus, spaghetti fortified with EPA+DHA could be used to increase consumption of LC n-3 PUFA and to decrease the dietary n-6/n-3 ratio
