De quoi parle-t-on quand on parle d’esclavage volontaire à Rome ?
The long-denied fact that a free-born man might seek to become a slave really began to be of interest to legal scholars and Roman historians following the publication of the paper by Paul Veyne and Jacques Ramin. Why would one want to become a slave while one is free ? How does this passage from freedom to slavery take place ? How have ancient and modern legal scholars accounted for this presumably degrading change of status ? The author of the present paper surveys current hypotheses and suggests new avenues to understand a phenomenon the nature and magnitude of which justify a new approach. Reduzzi Merola Francesca. Surface photometry of binary galaxies. I. A multicolour study of morphologies due to the interaction
We present the multicolour (B, V, R) surface photometry of 53 double
galaxies. All the pairs belong to the catalogue of Reduzzi & Rampazzo
(1995) containing objects selected according to the Karachentsev (1972)
criteria. We comment on the morphological, structural and photometric
characteristics of pairs and their members. Different classes of
interaction induced phenomena, both among early and late-type galaxies,
are considered. We found that few early-type galaxies show fine
structures. Grand design structure is more
frequently detected in binary than in field spirals both for barred and
non barred, confirming Elmegreen & Elmegreen's (1982) study. The
colour of the tails is consistent with the stripping hypothesis since it
is similar to the progenitor galaxy outskirts. Among our objects we
have no evident sign of induced star formation in tails. Rings appear
on average bluer than the disc as a whole

Trattamento chirurgico del morbo di Chron : indicazioni e tattica chirurgica in 20 pazienti
Sixty-seven patients with Crohn's disease underwent surgery in our department in the period 1989-1996. In this paper we evaluated only the first 20 patients. Ten were female and 10 male. There was single localization in 13 patients and multiple in 7. Surgery was limited to the macroscopically involved intestinal segment. Reconstruction of the intestinal tract has been carried out with a double layer polyglycolic acid end-to-end manual anastomosis
Clinical Perspectives in the Use of Liquid Biopsy in Metastatic Breast Cancer
Precision medicine aims to improve healthcare by identifying subsets of patients that are more likely to benefit from specific treatment strategies. Liquid biopsy offers the unique potential to better understand and monitor disease biology, since it is not burdened by the temporal and spatial limitations of tissue biopsy. CTC (circulating tumor cell) characterization is being explored as an alternative and flexible tool to identify predictive and prognostic biomarkers thanks to its capability of recapitulating a complete biological system. The present chapter will summarize the current clinical applications of CTC enumeration and its combination with other liquid biopsy technologies such as ctDNA. It will, moreover, offer new insights on non-canonical CTCs, which are emerging as a new entity with respect to epithelial circulating cells, and emerging multi-omics essays that may evolve into new comprehensive profiling workflows
