NOVA IMS is an international school with around 30% international students from more than 80 different nationalities. The need for continuous improvement of the quality of teaching and learning and the need to equip our graduates with digital skills led us to partner in the Beyond Scale project. The activity described in this user story builds on the HEInnovate dimension "Digital Transformation and Capability" and focuses on improving the quality of teaching and digital enhanced learning. Providing digital skills to our graduates is identified as a major requirement from the labour market. To discuss the actions need for this, we organised a workshop with NOVA IMS program coordinators. The workshop helped us refine our digital teaching and learning strategy.publishersversionpublishe
O Valor do Acesso aos Diagnósticos in vitro
NOVA Health & Analytics Lab, Victorino, G., Almeida, F., Catalão, C., Sousa, F. C., Pena, A. T. V. R., & Almeida, L. D. (2022). Melhor Saúde: O Valor do Acesso aos Diagnósticos in vitro.
The Birds of Brier Island, Nova Scotia
Brier Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, at the southwestern entrance to the Bay of Fundy, has been known for years as a prime birding destination. It combines access to unusually rich gatherings of pelagic birds, the chance of seeing rarities in greater frequency than almost anywhere else in the province, and the spectacle of large volume land bird migrations. Because of intense oceanic turbulence in the adjacent shallow water, which is in close proximity to deeper water, rich feeding is available for nearshore seabirds and pelagic species. Of the 470+ species recorded from the Province of Nova Scotia as a whole, 355 have been recorded from Brier Island.Print copies of Birds of Brier Island are available at a cost of $15.00 (plus shipping). Instituto Superior de Estatística e Gestão de Informação da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS). https://doi.org/10.34619/roeb-bmrb --- This project was supported by GSK Portugal. The NOVA Center for Global Health coordinated the +Longevity Think Tank, recognizing the importance of fostering reflection within Portuguese society on the enhanced role that vaccines can play as a factor in prevention and in promoting active and healthy aging. This initiative brings together diverse voices and multidisciplinary perspectives of recognized expertise, with the aim of debating challenges, exploring opportunities, and contributing to the future agenda of actions and policies that can maximize the health benefits of adult vaccination in Portuguese society. The Think Tank comprised three discussion sessions, each focusing on distinct yet complementary and critical dimensions (clinical, economic, and health policy). These discussions were instrumental in building consensus on a set of priority actions and proposals to be disseminated among policymakers and the scientific community. The recommendations presented in this report are based on an evidence-driven analysis. While the contributions of participants were considered and served as a foundation for the development of these proposals, the recommendations described here do not necessarily reflect the individual or personal opinions of all participants involved in the process.
