Federalismo.

This chaper analyse the complex interaction and relationship between international and domestic politics in Kant and Hamilton theories. In Perpetual Peace 1st definitive article Kant suggests that only certain domestic regimes can consider specific international policies (only republics, or liberal-democratic regimes, can accept to devolve sovereignty to supranational institutions aimed at ensuring peace). At the same time both Kant and Hamilton notices that the international context heavily influence the domestic regimes of the various states according to their position in the international system. The interaction is bi-directional as shown in the paper

The paper traces the misunderstandings of the commentary on the first book of Regum attributed to Gregory the Great. The history of the editions is analyzed till the discovery of the only manuscript known of the work, Cava dei Tirreni, Biblioteca dell'Abbazia 9. The criteria of the last edition by Patrick Verbraken are discussed as he uncritically favored the manuscript on the constitutio textus. The problem of the authorship of the work is investigated: although recent studies date the commentary to the twelfth century and ascribe it to Peter of Venosa on the basis of the Chronicon Venusinum, it is possible that the author used texts authentically gregorian

Immanuel Kant and Alexander Hamilton have each been studied for centuries, but it is unusual to associate the two. They lived in the same period and wrote about some common issues, but what unites them most is federalism – at least in a broad sense – considering that the modern conception of federalism was emerging right at that time, partially thanks to their written work and to Hamilton’s political activity. Mario Albertini was the first to develop a theory of federalism explicitly linking the two authors. In his seminal work, "Il Federalismo e lo Stato federale. Antologia e definizione" (Federalism and the federal state. Anthology and definition) first published in 1963, Albertini considered federalism as..
