Variants of Simple Correspondence Analysis
No full textThis paper presents a description of the R package CAvariants. It performs six variants of correspondence
analysis on a two-way contingency table. The main function that shares the same name
as the package - CAvariants - allows the user to choose (via a series of input parameters) from six
different correspondence analysis procedures. These include the classical approach to (symmetrical)
correspondence analysis, singly ordered correspondence analysis, doubly ordered correspondence
analysis, non symmetrical correspondence analysis, singly ordered non symmetrical correspondence
analysis and doubly ordered non symmetrical correspondence analysis. The code provides the flexibility
for constructing either a classical correspondence plot or a biplot graphical display. It also allows
the user to consider other important features that allow for one to assess the reliability of the graphical
representations, such as the inclusion of algebraically derived elliptical confidence regions. This paper
provides R functions that elaborates more fully on the code presented in Beh and Lombardo (2014)

No full textLe informazioni strutturali ed economiche analizzate nel capitolo indicano che il sistema agro-alimentare lombardo è il più importante a livello italiano ed uno dei più rilevanti nel contesto europeo. Il valore della produzione agro-industriale regionale si aggira attorno agli 11 miliardi di euro, con una quota superiore al 15% del totale italiano. Tale valore rappresenta circa il 3,5% del PIL regionale, ma la quota sale al 10,9% se si tiene conto dei margini di commercio e di trasporto. La produzione agricola e le attività di trasformazione alimentare si svolgono in quasi 70.000 strutture produttive, coinvolgendo circa 220.000 lavoratori, di cui quasi 150.000 stabilmente occupati (4,1% delle forze di lavoro lombarde)

No full textThe dynamic evolution of the oscillatory Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction upon addition of increasing amount of the non-ionic polymer polypropylene glycol with molecular weight 425 g mol(-1) (PPG-425) was investigated in a stirred-batch reactor by monitoring the Ce(IV) absorbance changes. The oscillatory parameters are significantly altered by the presence of the polymer.
The findings obtained in the present work revealed that the PPG-425 is not only more effective, than other polymer previously [R. Lombardo, C. Sbriziolo, M.L. Turco Liveri, K. Pelle, M. Wittmann, Z. Noszticzius, in: J.A. Pojman, Q. Tran-Cong-Miyata (Eds.), Nonlinear Dynamics in Polymeric Systems, American Chemical Society, Washington, DC, 869 (2004) 292] studied, in perturbing the BZ systems but also more capable of producing key radical species, which in turn can be exploited for the preparation of new polymeric materials
