Locus a simili: l’allegoria metaforica tra modelli analogici e pragmatica del linguaggio

This article aims to explain the wide diffusion of the simile (similitudo) in texts with psychagogic purposes, be they literary, political, etc. Given that similes can be non-metaphoric, this article only focuses on the metaphoric similes which represent animals in fables. It is argued that the abovementioned diffusion is a consequence of the great efficacy of the simile in affecting reasoning based on analogical models as well as the cognitive components of attitudes and stereotypes

Traducibilità linguistica e traducibilità culturale. Approcci linguistico-cognitivi e etno-linguistici al problema della relazione lingua-cultura nella traduzione

    No full text
The problems regarding linguistic and cultural translatability are central not only in translation studies but also in linguistics (both theoretical and applied). The aim of this article is to show how the classical problem of the relationship between language and culture has been managed over the last decades on the bases of some approaches which have been set in cognitive and anthropological linguistics. This aim was pursued through a brief illustration of some specific paradigmatic cases, selected along the lines of the debate on the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. The article ends with some general points regarding the re-examination of some issues in translatability from the point of view of the approaches described previously
