Dans le cadre d'une recherche sur les rapports entre la critique d'art italienne et la Biennale de Venise des arts figuratifs, entre 1948 et 1968, cet article examine le sort fait à l'institution vénitienne par Roberto Longhi, le célèbre professeur mort en 1970, par sa revue Paragone, et par son élève et collaborateur Francesco Arcangeli. Tous deux apportent un grand soin à leur style, et tous deux cessent d'écrire sur la Biennale après 1956. Chez Longhi, l'attitude à l'égard de l'art contemporain est négative, exception faite d'un certain type de figuration néo-réaliste italienne. Arcangeli, lui, est beaucoup plus ouvert à l'art contemporain, et soutient, au milieu des années 50, un groupe de peintres italiens qu'il baptise « der-
(v. au verso) niers naturalistes», censés dépasser le dilemme abstraction-réalisme. Ces peintres sont originaires de la Padania - Nord de l'Italie - et appartiennent ainsi à ce Nord idéal s'étendant de l'Europe à l'Amérique, que veut réhabiliter Arcangeli, et ils s'insèrent dans un courant qui débute avec le romantisme, et aboutit à l'Informel.Budillon Puma Pascale. Multiple pleuropericardial implants of thymoma after videothoracoscopic resection
No full textThe case of a 49-year-old man with multiple pleuropericardial implants of B2 thymoma is reported. Two years earlier, the patient had undergone left videothoracoscopic (VATS) resection of a 6-cm thymoma in another hospital. The operative report describes a technically correct procedure with morcellation of the lesion within a retrieval thoracoscopic bag. Through a standard thoracotomy, 11 implants were resected with macroscopically complete tumor removal. The origin of cell spillage was ascribed to manipulation of the thymoma during VATS resectio

No full textPurulent mediastinitis is a possible serious complication after mediastinal surgery. We report the case of a localized
sternal plasmocytoma treated by sternectomy and prosthetic repair, who needed a second surgery for a fistulizing
mediastinitis. Five months earlier, in another Hospital, the patient underwent sternal resection and reconstruction
with a “sandwich” prosthesis (Methyl-methacrylate and Marlex mesh). Suppurative mediastinitis occurred and septic
shock resolution was observed after the spontaneous opening of a mediastinal cutaneous fistula. After referring to
our Unit the patient underwent extensive local and systemic preparation and nutritional support; the infected
prosthesis was then removed and the gap filled by a laparoscopically-prepared omental flap. Adequate
preoperative management, removal of any infected material and minimally invasive omental flap transposition
allowed the successful treatment of this life-threatening condition
