No full text
The dataset is a supplement to the article that will soon be submitted for review. DESCRIPTION:The dataset consists of Absolute Orientation Sensor (BNO055) measurements during the transportation of an object by a UR3e robot. The trajectory of the robot's movement includes lifting the object to a height of about 200 mm, horizontal displacement for a distance of 400 mm, and lowering by 200 mm. The transfer procedure begins with the closing of the jaws and ends with their opening. The procedure is analogous to the one outlined in the following dataset:Białek, Marcin, 2023, "Processed measurement data on grip forces during object transportation by a robot using gripper with a MR fluid-filled cushions", https://doi.org/10.18150/B2KCKC, RepOD.The experiment was conducted for three values of acceleration and velocity of the robot joints. For each such configuration, 5 handling tests were carried out.LICENSE:The data are under Creative Commons License CC BY. Autoethnography, Storytelling, and Life as Lived: A Conversation Between Marcin Kafar and Carolyn Ellis

This conversation takes place in Warsaw. Carolyn Ellis has come to Poland to accompany Jerry Rawicki, a Warsaw Ghetto survivor, on his first trip back to Poland since the Holocaust. There she arranged to meet Marcin Kafar, a scholar in Poland who has spent time with her at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. During this visit, Marcin assists Carolyn with video recording Jerry’s experiences as they visit Holocaust sites, and Jerry remembers and reflects on his experience. Afterwards, Marcin converses with Carolyn about autoethnography, storytelling, and the importance of life in the context of searching for ethos by academics

Counteracting Sexual Abuse in the Catholic Church: the System in Poland

The Catholic Church in Poland, as happened before in other countries, faces the disclosure of scandals connected with the sexual abuse of minors by certain clergymen. This is a grave problem in the pastoral field and with the public image. According to the report of March 2019 by Instytut Statystyki Kościoła Katolickiego [Institute of the Statistics of the Catholic Church] 382 cases of sexual abuse were reported in 1990–2018, whereas the percentage of clergymen accused of abusing minors (up to 18 years of age) was 0,4%. The system of protecting children and youth against sexual abuse within the Church in Poland has been established since 2009. It was then that the Polish Bishops Conference adopted the first Wytyczne określające sposób postępowania w przypadkach wykorzystywania seksualnego małoletnich przez niektórych duchownych [Guidelines Specifying the Procedure in Cases of Sexual Abuse of Minors by Clergymen]. The system focuses on taking care of victims, developing clear norms and structures to bring to justice those clergymen who have committed the crimes and developing prevention programs for the protection of minors (which have already been implemented in all dioceses and in the majority of male religious congregations). It also runs Fundacja Świętego Józefa [St. Joseph Foundation] which provides various forms of help, mainly therapeutic, to the victims. In Kraków, Centrum Ochrony Dziecka [Center for the Protection of Children] established in 2013 runs and coordinates training activities. In dioceses and religious congregations there are delegates dedicated to the protection of children and youth, as well as ministers for those that have been sexually abused by clergymen. The chief Delegate for the Protection of Children and Youth, the Archbishop Wojciech Polak, Primate of Poland, has also been appointed. The results of preliminary investigations are passed along to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith under whose auspices a process of further investigation is run. The latest element of the system is the application of the norms introduced by Pope Francis under the motu proprio “Vos estis lux mundi”. They involve disciplining higher Church superiors who have concealed or covered up crimes of sexual abuse of minors. The Roman Catholic Church is the only public institution in Poland which has developed such meticulous internal standards as regards the punishment of the perpetrators, prevention programs and assistance to the victims. The purpose of the article is, therefore, to show the actions which the Church has taken in order to counteract the abuse of minors within the Church, both from the formal point of view as well as from the practical perspective: to substitute the mentality of “one must protect one’s men” with the one permeated with the spirit of the Gospel

Marcin Świetlicki : poeta (nie)religijny

The subject of this article is the issue of religiousness in the poetry of Marcin Świetlicki. The works by the author of Niskie pobudki (Low Motives) are entangled in a space of tran¬scendence by (among others) utilizing biblical themes — Cain and Abel, the creation of the world, Christmas, Jesus Christ, salvation — which accompany the author of Pieśń profana (The Profaner’s Song) ever since his first book, published in 1992. These result in the impression of religiousness of the poet’s works. However’ most common dogmas of Christian faith (since this is the only faith the poet refers to), as well as notions of the almighty, all-powerful, mer¬ciful God-the-Father or God the Creator are contradicted in this poetry. The author endues everyday, common things with holiness and divinity, while reducing the existence of God only to humans (thereby, to himself as well) and space available to them

Dragon over the Dnieper. China in relations with Belarus and Ukraine after 2010

No full text
We wstępie do niniejszej książki zaprezentowany zostanie aktualny stan badań oraz główne założenia związane z zaangażowaniem Chin w regionie Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej. Ponadto przedstawione zostaną szczegóły na temat warsztatu badawczego (w postaci podejścia teoretycznego, przyjętych hipotez badawczych, wykorzystanego materiału itd.). Rozdział drugi poruszy problematykę relacji ChRL i Republiki Białorusi w obszarze gospodarczym i militarnym (w mniejszej mierze politycznym). Autor postanowił wyabstrahować to zagadnienie w celu lepszej eksplanacji istoty zaangażowania Państwa Środka nad Dnieprem. The preface to this book there will present the current state of research within the author’s area of interest and the main assumptions connected with the China involvement in the region of Central-Eastern Europe. Besides the preface will present the details concerning author’s research workshop (e.g. theoretical approach, main hypothesis and research materials, etc.). The second chapter will raise the issue of the relations between PRC and Belarus within the field of the military, economic and political affairs. The third chapter in turn devoted to Ukraine will be concentrated upon the economic and military relations as well as political one’s in the following context the Ukrainian Revolution of 2014 and its aftermath: annexation of Crimea and War in Donbass. The last part of this work will constitute a summary based on the conclusions from previous chapters. Moreover the summary will include the analysis of the cooperation between Belarus, Ukraine and China from the China perspective. The author has intended to abstract this issue with the intend to explain more clearly the essence of the China involvement on the Dnieper River. Taking into account that the motivations of the decision-makers in Beijing regarding the cooperation with both Ukraine and Belarus are similar, such abstracting has been, in the author’s view, logically justified. The final pages of this work contain the annexes in the form of the tables with details of trade flow between China and Central-Eastern European countries (including Russia) as well as maps presenting New Silk Road trajectory. Those appendixes has subsidiary character for the rest of research paper
