Kostylev [ZMMU]). Material examined. Turkmenistan: 2 &male;, Repetek [63 ° 10 'E 38 ° 34 'N], 23.V. 1974, leg. M. Kozlov [ZISP / RCMK]. Remarks. The male of C. kaline has been unknown and is described here for the first time based on specimens collected at the same locality and season as the female. The pilosity pattern of the male differed from that of C. morawitzensis Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin as predicted (Proshchalykin & Kuhlmann 2015 a). Diagnosis. Within the C. flavicornis -group the only male with an apically smooth and shiny, conspicuously raised clypeus known so far has been C. morawitzensis. As explained in the description of this species (Proshchalykin & Kuhlmann 2015 a) it is very unlikely that it is the male of two species only known from females that have a similarly formed clypeus, namely C. kaline Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin and C. pallipes Noskiewicz. Recently two male specimens with the characteristic raised clypeus became available for study that fit the body size and pilosity pattern expected for C. kaline. The male of C. kaline differs from C. morawitzensis by its larger body (9 mm instead of 7.5 mm), shorter malar area (medially about 1.2 times as long as width of mandible base; 1.5 times as long in C. morawitzensis), broader apical tergal hair bands and more extensive pilosity of short, appressed hair at the base of metasomal terga (Figs 5 b, c) compared to C. morawitzensis (Fig. 5 d). S 7 is apically distinctly broader (Fig. 5 e) than in C. morawitzensis. Description. Male. Bl = 9.0 mm. Head. Head slightly wider than long. Integument black except part of mandible dark reddish-brown. Face densely covered with long, white, erect hair. Malar area medially about as long as width of mandible base, finely striate, matt and sparsely covered with short appressed, white hairs. Clypeus apically smooth and shiny, conspicuously raised. Antenna black, ventrally dark yellowish-brown. Mesosoma. Integument black. Mesoscutal disc smooth and shiny between punctures; disc sparsely punctate (i = 2–3 d) with small punctures. Mesoscutellum almost impunctate,t with dense punctation on apical margin, surface smooth and shiny. Mesoscutum, mesoscutellum, metanotum, mesepisternum and propodeum covered with long, greyish-white erect hairs (Fig. 5 a). Wings. Slightly yellowish-brown; wing venation light yellowish-brown. Legs. Integument black to dark reddish-brown, tarsi dark yellowish-brown. Vestiture greyish-white. Metasoma. Integument black except depressed apical tergal margins yellowish translucent (Fig. 5 c). Most of T 1 and basal parts of T 2 –T 3 sparsely covered with short appressed, white hairs; T 1 and disc of T 2 additionally covered with long, white, erect hairs; apical tergal hair bands broad (Figs 5 b, c). The male of new species is most similar to that of Palaearctic A. scriptus, but differs by having labrum with two weak tubercles anteriorly and longitudinal median carina (with two strong teeth anteriorly and lacking longitudinal median carina in A. scriptus), by having flagellomere 1 length 0.8 × flagellomeres 2–4 combined together (equal flagellomeres 2–4 combined together in A. scriptus, Fig. 17 vs. Fig. 16), by having gonostyle with a few short setae (with abundant long setae in A. scriptus, Fig. 5 vs. Figs 11, 14), by having S 7 narrow, with long lateral lobes and narrow apex (S 7 wide, with short lateral lobe and wide apex in A. scriptus, Fig. 6 vs. Figs 12, 15), by having S 8 wider than long, with strongly chitinized projecting rounded apex (S 8 longer than wide, with weakly chitinized emarginated apex in A. scriptus, Fig. 7 vs. Fig. 13). Diagnosis of female. The female of new species is most similar to that of Palaearctic A. scriptus, but differs by having labrum lacking tubercles anteriorly and with longitudinal median carina (with two denticles anteriorly and lacking longitudinal median carina in A. scriptus), by having mesoscutum shiny, with sparse irregular foveae and small punctures, much denser laterally; disc with rare punctures (mesoscutum more or less matt, with uniform foveae and small punctures, interspaces usually no more than their diameter in A. scriptus, Fig. 23 vs. Fig. 25); by having metasomal terga shiny, densely foveolate, with interspaces from 0.5 to 3.0 their diameter, apically densely punctured (metasomal terga matt, densely punctured, interspaces 0.25–0.33 their diameter in A. scriptus, Fig. 23 vs. Fig. 25); by having T 1 –T 4 posteriorly with interrupted band of white plumose setae (T 1 –T 5 posteriorly with interrupted band of white plumose setae in A. scriptus, Fig. 23 vs. Fig. 25).     Sphecodes schwarzi Astafurova & Proshchalykin, sp. nov. (Figs 21, 22, 58, 59, 63, 75, 116) Diagnosis. The male of the new species is similar to that of the south-westpalaearctic S. pinguiculus Pérez and S. intermedius Blüthgen by the face with apressed white pubescence below as well as above the antennal sockets and the metasomal terga (including T 1) densely punctate (S. pinguiculus group). It differs from this species by the short, triangular gonostylus (Figs 58, 59) (in S. pinguiculus and S. intermedius the gonostylus is long and almost rectangular). Description. Male. Structure. Body length 5.0 mm (Paratypes 5.0−5.5 mm). Head weakly transverse, 1.1 times wider than long (Fig. 63). Vertex short, distance from top of head to upper margin of lateral ocellus about 1.5 lateral ocellar diameters. Genal area slightly narrower than eye in lateral view. Antenna attaining middle of scutum; F 1 short, strongly transverse, 0.5 times as long as wide; F 2 longest, 1.3 times longer than wide; other flagellomeres 1.1−1.2 times longer than wide. Undersides of F 3 −F 11 with felt-like areas (depression with very short hairs). Feltlike area on F 3 covers about 1 / 2 underside, on F 4 and F 5 about 1 / 2 − 2 / 3 and on about 4 / 5 on remaining flagellomeres (Figs 21, 22). S 7 slender, arrow-shaped. S 8 trapezoidal. Gonocoxite with dorsal depression. Gonostylus small, triangular (Figs 58, 59). Sculpture. Face densely punctate, with confluent punctures, area between ocelli and eye with punctutes separated by a puncture diameter. Vertex and genal areas rugose. Scutum with deep, round punctures (15−25 µm / 1−4), becoming denser peripherally. Scutellum with coarse and dense punctures (punctures separated by less than a puncture diameter). Mesepisternum reticulate-rugose. Basal part of propodeum (propodeal triangle) with coarse, longitudinal-curved wrinkles or reticulate-wrinkles, rest of propodeum reticulate-rugose. Metasomal terga densely punctate with punctures separeted by at most a puncture diameter; marginal zones impunctate (Fig. 75); T 7 densely and coarsely punctate. Coloration. Body black except as follows: mandible yellow medially, red-brown apically; flagellomeres brown ventrally; tibia yellow proximally and distally; tarsi yellow; stigma and veins yellowish-brown, marginal zones (at least on T 1 and T 2) yellowish-brown. Vestiture. Face with apressed white pubescence bellow, as well as above antennal sockets (Fig. 63). Female. Unknown. Type material (5 specimens).     Colletes askhabadoides Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin sp. nov. (Figs 4 a–d) Diagnosis. Colletes askhabadoides is closely related to the Central Asian C. askhabadensis and the shape of S 7 in both species is very similar (Fig. 4 c). The male of C. askhabadoides can be easily recognized by the shape of its S 7 (Fig. 4 c) in combination with the abundant thick and appressed hairs on T 1 (Fig. 4 b) (much shorter in C. askhabadensis). Description. Female. Unknown. Male. Bl = 6.0–7.0 mm. Head. Head wider than long. Integument black except mandible partly dark reddishbrown. Face densely covered with long, white, erect hairs. Malar area medially about 1 / 3 as long as width of mandible base, finely striate. Antenna black, ventrally yellowish-brown (Fig. 4 a). Mesosoma. Integument black. Mesoscutal disc almost impunctate, smooth and shiny. Scutellum nearly impunctate with a few punctures apically, surface smooth and shiny. Mesoscutum, scutellum, metanotum, mesepisternum and propodeum covered with long, greyish to yellowish-white erect hairs (Fig. 4 a). Wings. Slightly yellowish-brown; wing venation and stigma yellowish-brown. Legs. Integument mostly dark reddish-brown, tarsi yellowish-brown. Vestiture white (Fig. 4 a). Metasoma. Integument black except depressed apical tergal margins whitish to yellowish or reddish translucent (Fig. 4 b). Disc of T 1 densely covered with long, appressed hairs and few erect yellowish-white hairs (Fig. 4 b); apical tergal depression and hair bands of T 2 – T 5 very broad, much broader than the respective discs and densely covered with long, appressed white hairs; apical tergal depression and hair band of T 1 only about half the width of the other ones (Fig. 4 a, b).     Colletes jovel Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin, sp. nov. (Figs 2 a–d) Diagnosis. The female of C. jovel is very characteristic. Its large body size (13 mm) in combination with the fine, very dense punctation and pilosity pattern of metasomal terga (Fig. 2 d) is unique among species of the C. squamosus -group. In C. jovel the glabrous part of T1 is about as broad as the apical tergal hair band. In most other species of this group that are of similar size, T1 is either completely covered with short appressed hairs (C. comatoides Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin, C. comatus Noskiewicz, C. sellatus Morawitz) or the glabrous part is much narrower than the apical tergal hair band (C. rubellus Noskiewicz, C. rubripes Noskiewicz, C. skorikowi Noskiewicz). In C. squamulosus Noskiewicz the glabrous area is much more extensive but the apical tergal hair bands consist of conspicuous very short, scale-like hairs (much longer and more slender in C. jovel). Description. Female. Bl: 13.0 mm. Head wider than long. Integument black mandible mostly dark reddishbrown. Face except clypeus densely covered with long, yellowish-white, erect hairs, on vertex light brown (Fig. 2 b). Clypeus almost flat, with shallow longitudinal median depression, supraclypeal area rectangular and convex in profile. Clypeus relatively finely and very densely punctate (i <0.5d), particularly in the median depression, subapically slightly coarser and sparser punctate; surface between punctures smooth and shiny, small pair of apical clypeal depressions (Fig. 2 b). Malar area medially very narrow, about 1/5 as long as width of mandible base, finely striate. Antenna black, scape and flagellum ventrally reddish-brown (Fig. 2 b). Mesosoma. Integument black. Disc of scutum densely punctate (i = 0.5d), smooth and shiny between punctures. Scutellum anteriomedially impunctate, smooth and shiny; apically densely punctate (Fig. 2 c). Scutum, mesepisternum and propodeum densely covered with short light yellowish-white, erect, plumose hairs (Fig. 2 a, c). Wings. Slightly yellowish; wing venation dark brown. Legs. Integument reddish-brown. Vestiture whitish to yellowish-white, scopa yellowish-white (Fig. 2 a). Metasoma. Integument black to dark reddish-brown, depressed apical tergal margins reddish to yellowish translucent (Fig. 2 d). T1 on basal half densely covered with short appressed, yellowish-white hairs, apical half of disc glabrous, apical tergal hair band broad, medially slightly extended; T2 with broad basal hair band, glabrous disc about 2/3 as broad as the very broad apical tergal hair band; T3–T5 with broad apical tergal hair bands; terga apically very slightly depressed (Fig. 2 d). Terga very densely and finely punctate (i <0.5d), between punctures smooth and shiny (Fig. 2 d). Apical sternal hair bands broad. Male. Unknown. Type material (1 specimen). Holotype, female, Azerbaijan: 25–35 km E Nakhichevan [45°42´E 39°11´N], 7– 17.VII.1982, Yu. Pesenko (ZISP). Etymology. The name refers to the beauty of this species. In Masematte “ jovel ” means “beautiful” or “good” and is here used as a noun in apposition. Masematte is a regional sociolect or social dialect that was exclusively used in the poorer urban quarters of the city of Münster (NW Germany). It belongs to Rotwelsch which is a secret language of thieves, beggars and hustlers (Thieves´cant or Rogues´cant) primarily spoken in parts of Germany and Switzerland. General distribution.
