Transformation of Robotics Education in the Era of Covid-19: Challenges and Opportunities

    No full text
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted many aspects of our social and professional life. To this end, Higher Education institutions reacted rather vastly to this unpreceded situation although many issues have been reported in the international literature since the emergence of the first global lockdown. As we are now transitioning back to the ‘normality’, universities and businesses consider the so-called ‘blended’ or ‘hybrid’ model as a means of facilitating the transition phase. In view of this decision, several studies can be identified wherein blended learning scenarios are proposed and described. The present work constitutes such an effort. Precisely, while adjusting the lens to the didactic of Robotics courses, we propose a blended learning model via which the laboratory activities are performed without the physical presence of the students in the physical context. The aforementioned objective is attained under the aid of the Virtual Reality technology coupled with the Digital Twin model. We hope that the ideas presented in this manuscript will motivate and inspire more researchers, instructional designers, and educators to consider the adoption of such alternative instructional techniques to mitigate the shortcomings that the remote education setting brings and further to improve the overall learning experience

«Fessi igitur assiduitate studii ... odibili norma».

    No full text
To this end, in the first part of the text I will analyze the philosophical roots of Weil’s reflection on labor; second, I will delve into the critique of alienated labor in contemporary industry; finally, I will examine the synthesis between manual and intellectual labor that the author seeks in the notion of attention. In this way, I will show how this last aspect, one of the most original features of Weil’s reflection, allows her work to continue an effective dialogue with contemporary political thoughtDepto. de Filosofía y SociedadFac. de FilosofíaTRUEpu

Sugerimos que mediante ese estilo de escritura que la vincula a una línea de filósofos moralistas no sistemáticos, la autora francesa reconceptualiza lo que tradicionalmente una comunidad académica, hegemónicamente masculina, comprendió por “filosofía” y por “literatura”.AbstractOur aim is to provide an interpretation based on Simone de Beauvoir´s hybrid literay-philosophical writing as part of her strategy feminist of the (self)constitution of the subject-woman style outlined in The Second Sex, which demonstrates her social and political commitment. We suggest that through this writing style that connects Beauvoir to a line of non-systematic moral philosophers, the French author reconceptualizes what traditionally an academic community, hegemonically circumscribed to males, understood by “philosophy” and by “literature.

The objective of this work is to investigate the extent of the influence of Emile Chartier (Alain) in the work of Simone Weil, from the study of its work and in order to highlight its specificity. Starting from the importance of this influence, recognized by the author, the consideration of different sources (essays and first works, letters, personal notes etc.) evidences in the evolution of the weilian intellectual path the reworking of an inheritance that affects the core of its conception of philosophy and, simultaneously, promotes the reformulation of the content received with the incorporation of experience, so it is decisive in the theoretical contribution of the author

    No full text
This paper re-examines the indirect tradition of Herondas, with particular reference to the Byzantine etymologica. The focus is on both the entry ζήτρειον, already known but so far unsatisfactorily published, and a ‘new’ testimony transmitted by the Etymologicum Genuinum (s. v. The information reported in the latter is in keeping with that provided by the former and requires us to reconsider the problem of Herondas’ iotacist spellings, suggesting that a large part of them dates back to the author himself

Eugenio d’Ors y Simone Weil: impacto en Aranguren

Eugenio d’Ors is the first author to write about Simone Weil in Spain. He does it in May 1949, recalling Gustave Thibon, one of the speakers of the summer courses held in Santander in August 1948. Thibon, to whom the French philosopher had entrusted part of her writings, published a selection of them in 1948, and Eugenio d’Ors, always attentive to what aroused interest outside of Spain, gives his impressions about the book. A little later, in 1951, it will be José Luis L. Aranguren, surely alerted by his teacher, who is interested in Weil’s work in that same vein to make Spanish readers participate in the thought in vogue in Europe. But Aranguren, who feels challenged by the work of Simone Weil, dwells more on it and frames it in the reality of the present, wondering how the man of his time relates to God.Eugenio d’Ors es el primer autor que en España escribe sobre Simone Weil.
