M-politics: Credibility and effectiveness of mobile political communications
New communication technologies and, in particular, SMS ( Short Message Service ) — that
is, undersized text messages sent to a mobile phone by a computer or by another mobile device —
offer political parties and candidates an innovative tool for communicating with their actual and
prospective voters. The present study evaluates both credibility and its effects on the voting intention
of SMS political communication (ie mobile-politics , M-Politics ), by considering credibility as a
characteristic ascribed to SMS. The results indicate that although m-politics is considered a credible
tool, with regard to their effect on the voting intention, it does not modify the intention to vote but
rather reinforces the past voting behaviour of both Center-Right and Center-Left voters. Consequently,
they do not allow political parties and candidates to grasp opposing coalition voters and change their
voting intention, but only to enhance the loyalty of actual voters
Social and Q&A interfaces for app download
Downloading software via Web is a major solution for publishers to deliver their software products. In this context, user interfaces for software downloading play a key role. Actually, they have to allow usable interactions as well as support users in taking conscious and coherent decisions about whether to accept to download a software product or not. This paper presents different design alternatives for software download interfaces, i.e. the interface that prompts the user if he wishes to actually complete its download, and evaluates their ability to improve the quality of user interactions while reducing errors in user decisions. More precisely, we compare Authenticode, the leading software download interface for Internet Explorer, to Question-&-Answer, a software download interface previously proposed by the authors Dini, Foglia, Prete, & Zanda (2007). Furthermore, we evaluate the effect of extending both interfaces by means of a reputation system similar to the eBay Feedback Forum. The results of the usability studies show that (i) the pure Question-&-Answer interface is the most effective in minimizing users incoherent behaviors, and (ii) the differences in reputation rankings significantly influence users. Overall results suggest guidelines to design the best interface depending on the context (brand reputation and product features)

CD20-depleting therapy in autoimmune diseases: from basic research to the clinic
Perosa F, Prete M, Racanelli V, Dammacco F (University of Bari Medical School, Bari, Italy). CD20-depleting therapy in autoimmune diseases: from basic research to the clinic (Review). J Intern Med 2010; 267: 260-277. The B lymphocyte-associated antigen CD20 is becoming an important immunotherapy target for autoimmune diseases, although its biological function has not been defined. Besides rheumatoid arthritis, growing experience with B cell-depleting therapy indicates that it may be effective in Sjögren's syndrome, dermatomyositis-polymyositis, systemic lupus erythematosus and some types of vasculitides. However, controlled clinical trials are still lacking for some of these indications. Infection has not been seen as a major limitation to this therapy, but reports of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in an extremely small number of patients are of concern. Here, we review the therapeutic actions of anti-CD20 antibodies, and the recent and ongoing clinical trials with CD20-depleting therapy in autoimmune diseases. © 2010 Blackwell Publishing Ltd

Its pathogenesis is complex and not fully understood yet. Genetic and epigenetic factors interact with molecular pathways involving TNF-α, IL-23/IL-17 axis, and peculiar cytokines, as IL-36 or phosphodiesterase 4. This review discusses the mechanisms involved in the development of the disease, as well as the therapeutic options proposed following the investigation of the inflammatory psoriatic pathways. We performed a comprehensive search using the words “psoriasis” and the newest molecules currently under investigation and approval. From these data, a new scenario in psoriasis is occurring to personalize the therapies - especially systemic ones and those using small molecules – and avoid topical and injectable drugs. We reported the newest therapeutic opportunities, including the inhibitors of Janus kinase/tyrosine kinase 2, phosphodiesterase-4 and IL-36 receptor. Today, more than 20 molecules are under investigation for the treatment of cutaneous psoriasis. Most of them are constituted by small molecules or biologic therapies. This underlines how psoriasis needs systemic therapies, due to its complex pathogenesis and multisystemic involvement. Keywords: psoriasis, janus kinase inhibitors, tyrosine kinase 2 inhibitors, phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitors, IL-36 receptors inhibitor
