A sufficient condition for the boundedness of operator-weighted martingale transforms and Hilbert transform

    No full text
Let W be an operator weight taking values almost everywhere in the bounded positive invertible linear operators on a separable Hilbert space H. We show that if W and its inverse W−1 both satisfy a matrix reverse Holder property introduced in [2], then the weighted Hilbert transform H : L2W(R,H) → L2W(R,H) and also all weighted dyadic martingale transforms Tσ: L2W(R,H) → L2W(R,H) are bounded. We also show that this condition is not necessary for the boundedness of the weighted Hilbert transform

    Pott\u2019s Puffy Tumour

A 10-year-old girl presented with an episode of seizure following osteomyelitis of the frontal bone and subperiosteal abscess due to frontal sinusitis. CT scan confirmed osteomeyelitis of the frontal bone and subperiosteal abscess. At surgery, the subperiosteal abscess and contiguous subdural abscess was drained and sequestrectomy of the affected frontal bone done. Broad spectrum antibiotics and anticonvulsant were given for 4 weeks. The patient recovered without residual problems and has remained well at 5 years of follow up. Pott\u2019s puffy tumor is now relatively uncommon and associated seizure is unusual. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment is necessary to avoid severe neurological complications and sequelae.Une fille de 10 ans s'est pr\ue9sent\ue9e avec un \ue9pisode de la saisie apr\ue8s l'ost\ue9omy\ue9lite de l'os frontal et de l'abc\ue8s subperiosteal dus \ue0 la sinusite frontale. Transpedicular drainage of Pott's abscess: A report of two cases

    No full text
The treatment of Pott's disease remains controversial. The authors present two cases of spinal tuberculosis treated with posterior stabilization and supplementary abscess evacuation via the pedicular route with subsequent chemotherapy. The aim of this procedure was to increase the healing rate. Radiographic evidence of bone healing without any sequelae was demonstrated at 13 and 14 months
