Variants of the chosen paremiological units with an ornitonym in the Slovak national corpus and dictionaries KSSJ and SSSJ
Diplomsko delo raziskuje variantnost slovaških paremioloških enot, tj. pregovorov in rekov, ki vsebujejo sestavino z ornitonimi (ptičjo vrsto) in sicer s pomočjo jezikovnega korpusa slovaškega jezika JULS (Jazykovedný ústav Ľ. Štúra slovenskej akadémie vied) in slovarjev SSSJ in KSSJ. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni pojmi, s katerimi operiram v raziskovalnem delu naloge, npr. frazem, frazeologija, paremiologija, paremiološki žanri, variantnost, frazeološke prenovitve idr. The thesis explores the variability of Slovak paremiological units, ie. proverbs and sayings containing a component with ornithonyms (names of bird spb hhecies) with the help of the language corpus of the Slovak language JULS (Jazykovedný ústav Št. Štúra slovenskej akadémie vied) and dictionaries SSSJ and KSSJ. The theoretical part presents the terms used in the research part of the thesis, e.g. phraseology, phrasem, paremiology, paremiological genres, variability, phraseological renovations, etc. In the empiric part of the thesis, I investigate deviations from the norm (variability, renewal and interplanar transformations) in paremias with ornithonyms mentioned by SSSJ (Slovník súčasného slovenského jazyka) and KSSJ (Krátky slovník slovenského jazyka) by using the language corpus.
I answered the following questions: are the variants listed in the dictionaries actually established in use? How many paremias found on the web are in common use among speakers, while not mentioned in the dictionaries? The aim of the research is to find out the dictionary weaknesses of paremias and how they could possibly be improved

»A ni to malo strašljivo?« – doživljanje stika z umrlimi
This paper explores the personal experience of contact with the dead from an anthropological perspective, defining such contact as spontaneous interactions between living individuals and the dead. These encounters can manifest in various forms, ranging from meaningful dreams and mental communication with the dead to sensory and other perceptions of the deceased. The author challenges the prevalent notion that contact with the dead is inherently frightening and unwelcome, drawing on her own fieldwork as well as relevant studies on afterlife communication. Through the presentation of first-person testimonies, the paper highlights the wide range of reactions to such experiences and demonstrates that fear and rejection are, in fact, among the least common responses to encounters with the dead.

Eva Urban. 'Lessing’s Nathan the Wise: from the Enlightenment to the Berliner Ensemble.'
Lessing's Nathan the Wise (1779), exemplary for its enlightenment and humanist ideals, assembles Jews, Christians, and Muslims in dialogue during the medieval crusades in Jerusalem. Their encounters allow them to transcend conflict, to recognize their common humanity, and to resolve their differences through dialectical discourse and group arguments. In this article Eva Urban looks closely at the representation of enlightenment in this play and examines the potential role of plays and theatre practice in developing autonomous citizenship and intercultural understanding. Particular reference is made to the 2013 Berliner Ensemble production of Nathan the Wise in relation to aesthetic debates about modern political drama. Eva Urban is a British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Faculty of English, University of Cambridge, and an Associate of Clare Hall, Cambridge. She is the author of Community Politics and the Peace Process in Contemporary Northern Irish Drama (Peter Lang, 2010) and has published a number of articles on political drama and Irish studies
