56 p. : ill. (some col.), maps ; 26 cm. "June 25, 2010."We review the taxonomy of the Hadruroides Pocock, 1893 (Iuridae: Caraboctoninae), scorpions of Peru, describe six new species from the north of the country, and report new records of other poorly known species. The description of these species raises to 16 the number of described species in the genus, 13 of which occur in Peru. Four species inhabit dry forest in northern Peru: H. charcasus (Karsch, 1879); H. chinchaysuyu, n. sp.; H. geckoi, n. sp.; H. leopardus Pocock, 1900. Three species occur in inter-Andean valleys along the Cordillera: H. bustamantei Ochoa and Chaparro, 2008; H. carinatus Pocock, 1900; H. mauryi Francke and Soleglad, 1980. Six species inhabit desert along the Pacific coast: H. aguilari Francke and Soleglad, 1980; H. graceae, n. sp.; H. juanchaparroi, n. sp.; H. lunatus (L. Koch, 1867); H. tishqu, n. sp.; H. vichayitos, n. sp. Most species of Hadruroides have restricted distributions, except H. charcasus and H. lunatus, which are apparently more widely distributed. We consider it necessary to reassess all previous records of the latter two species, because we suspect several are based on misidentifications

Dimensions. Length up to 31 mm. Type material. Syntypes 2 (ZMH-A0000690, ZMH-A0009373). MYANMAR: Bago Region, Bago (“Palon”) [ca. 17°19’N, 96°27’E]. Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Pocock (1891) did not specify the number of specimens in his description and all specimens are syntypes. An additional type (♂, Birmanie, Palon) is present at the MNHN and more material of this and the former species are at the ZMUC and perhaps the BMNH (Stoev & Geoffroy 2004: 7–8). Collection remarks. See Scutigera birmanica Pocock, 1891. Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Thereuopoda longicornis (Fabricius, 1793) according to Würmli (1979: 46).Published as part of Thofern, Detlef, Dupérré, Nadine & Harms, Danilo, 2021, An annotated type catalogue of the centipedes (Myriapoda: Chilopoda) held in the Zoological Museum Hamburg, pp. 1-103 in Zootaxa 4977 (1) on pages 81-82, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4977.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/481967

Sicarius spatulatus Pocock, 1900 (Figs. 2D, 3D, 4E, 7A) Sicarius spatulatus Pocock, 1900: 321; Newlands 1986: 56, f. 27–29. Types: ♂ Lectotype (here designated) and 1♀ allolectotype (here designated) from South Africa: Port Elizabeth, [3358'S, 2538'E], H.A. Spencer & Dr. Broom [probably in the BMNH collection] [not seen]. Note: Specimens from an area close to the type locality were examined and found to correspond to the type description and the redescription given by Newlands (1986).This species might be the new genus from South Africa mentioned by Lehtinen (1986). Diagnosis: Leg femora in both sexes with scoop shaped enlarged setae dorsal (Fig. 2D) differing from the setae of all the other species. Male embolus ending in a broad, blunt apex (Fig. 3D), the embolus of all the other species have thin sharp apexes. Female copulatory tubes consist of a broad chamber, extending posterior in numerous tubes, each ending in one or more spermathecal vesicles (Fig. 4E), differing from all the other species where the spermathecae are finger-like sacs. Female: (AMSA 2525): TL = 8.0; CL = 3.2; CW = 3.3; CLL = 0.6. AME-LE 0.3; Longest eye diameter 0.15. Leg measurements: Distribution: Sicarius spatulatus is distributed along the southern coastal areas of South Africa (Fig. 7A).Published as part of Lotz, L. N., 2012, Present status of Sicariidae (Arachnida: Araneae) in the Afrotropical region, pp. 1-41 in Zootaxa 3522 on pages 10-1
