    No full text
V zaključku avtor izpostavlja, kako zavajajoč pojem je ‚celostna ekologija‘ in predlaga, naj bo nadomeščen z besedno zvezo ‚ekologija in dobrobit‘.In the presented article, the author provides a critical assessment of the terms ecosocialism, deep ecology, human ecology and ,integral ecology‘, which has entered common usage since the publication of the „Laudato si’“ encyclical. In the introduction, the author presents some of the views on the environment found in the Slovenian theological literature. He continues by analyzing the term ,ecology‘, arguing his view on why it incorporates the meaning of the term ,integral‘ by definition, and underlining the differences between ecological and sociological systems. In the conclusion, the author cautions against the appeal of the term ,integral ecology‘ and suggestsreplacing it with a term ,ecology and well-being‘

Diplomsko delo obravnava odnos javnosti do gozdov v mestih. Najbolj jih motijo smeti, uničene klopi in table, viseče, mrtvo in poškodovano drevje. Večina anketiranih se strinja z občasno sečnjo v teh gozdovih (R -87,0 %, G - 86,7 %) in se v gozdovih Rožnika in Golovca počuti varno (R - 77,5 %, G - 74,4%).This thesis examines the public attitude toward the forests in towns. The author researches the frequency and the reasons for visiting forests with a public survey among the visitors of the forests of Rožnik Hill (R) and GolovecHill (G) in Ljubljana. She examines how recognizable the Slovenia Forest Service is, the appropriateness of indications of forest works and the attitude towards coarse woody debris in forests. The purpose of this thesis was to find out the opinion of the surveyees about forest management, the forest ownership regulation, logging in these forests and about general feeling of visitors when they visit the forests. The survey (nonprobability sampling) was conducted in two parts, the first being a mass recreational event and the second an online survey. The survey was filled in by 788 surveyees in total, 555 of them being visitors of forests on Rožnik Hill and 349 of Golovec Hill. The results show that most of the surveyees (66.3%) walk through the forest at least once a week. The leading reason for that are recreational activities (walking, jogging, and cycling). It is followed by relaxation after a hard day\u27s work, walking the dog and retreat from people and bustling towns. The majority of the surveyees who visited the forests (R -69.2%, G - 67.0%) are relatively satisfied with the forest management. They are mostly disturbed by littering, destroyed benches and sign posts and coarsewoody debris and damaged trees. The majority (R - 40.7%, G - 35.0%) saidthat the forest parcels should be bought or rented by the municipality, and here the share is different depending on the location (bigger share on Rožnik Hill). Most of the surveyees (R - 87.0%, G - 86.7%) agree with occasional logging in these forests. Most of the surveyees (R - 77.5%, G - 74.4%) feel safe in the forests of Rožnik and Golovec Hill

Land use in the specific region in the properties of Zastena includes forest use, agricultural use, settlements and infrastructural use. Agricultural land use has grown from the settlement in the 18th century until the second half of the 20th century. After that time the abandonment of agricultural land has infected agricultural use to stagnate. The overgrowing has started and in someplaces it is still present today. Factors such as the First World War and the development of Alpine dairy farming also had an important role in the landscape changing. As for forestry branch, intensive logging and timber sales had the major influence on landscape changing in the past. Both agricultural and forestry branch has had a significant impact on the provision of income to the population in this specific area. Therefore, the population remained here, although in a modest extent. Nowadays, besides the main branch in this area - agriculture, the importance of forestry branch is increasing and is also a good alternative for the future in this area due to the favorable forest conditions

The research was conducted in the Bohinj, Notr anji Bohinj and Jelovica forest units. With the aid of an online questionnaire were determin ed that the forested areas of Bohinj were of great importance to recreati onal activities. Most of the peopl e that took the survey stated that their primary reason for visiting forest areas was trekking. 35% of those visit these areas multiple times a week, the residents of Bohinj scored an even higher percentage on this question at 55%. The main reason stated for not participating in recreational activities even more frequent was lack of time. Most of the people are fairly satisfied with the op- tions offered, however they would like to see more up kept hiking tra ils, recreational infra- structure, signposts, and educational paths. They were most satisfied with peace and quiet as well as the cleanliness and untouched natu re. The most popular areas amongst the ques- tioned were the Bohinj lake and its immediate surroundings, Pokljuka plateau, mountain meadows around Bohinj, the "Kerglc" joggi ng path and Rudnica mountain. The second part of the research was conducted in order to point out the conflict areas. These are the places where the recreational function of fore sts was ranked as level 1, and it was deter- mined that in majority of those at least one other forest function was ranked the same, and is in direct conflict with the recreational f unction of forests. A ne w mapping proposal was introduced in order to avoid thes e conflicts. It is s uggested that the surf ace for level 1 rec- reational function be reduced, the linear shape of level 1 recreational function be length- ened, and all other forested space be indexed with recreational function of forests on 2 lev- el

V diplomski nalogi so obravnavali primestne gozdove Postojne. Izločili so pet kompleksov s skupno površino 656,52 ha in jih podrobno opisali. Ocenili so površine funkcij gozdov prve stopnje. In the thesis, they analyzed suburban forests of Postojna. In this area they selected five complexes with the sum of 656,52 ha. They determined natural and others attractions and showed them on a surveyable card. They presented surfaces of complexes considering ownership relations and showed the structure of private property on the complexes. They evaluated function surface of the first degree forests. They studied and determined different types of ways and roads and suggested new ones. They also created different ways of road marking and evaluated them financially. In the future it would be necessary to proclaim these forests as forests with special function and so to settle their legal status, to increase the share of marked ways, to arrange the infrastructure, as for example underpasses under railway sand crossings of regional roads and to strengthen the cooperation with public

Gozdne površine v primestnem prostoru opravljajo več socialnih in ekoloških funkcij, njihovo delovanje je zaradi urbanizacije in drugih vplivov človeka ogroženo. Območje Jarškega in Tomačevskega proda leži na Ljubljanskem polju, geografski razvoj močno zaznamuje reka Sava. Forest land in the suburban area are performing a number of social and ecological functions, their operation is threatened due to urbanization and other human impacts. Area of Jarški and Tomačevski prod lies on the Ljubljansko polje, characterized by strong geographical development of the Sava River. In the study area of 398.39 ha is a blend of different land use. Forest areas represent 43% of the total area (172.37 ha). The forest stand consists of four basic types of which are most representative mixed stands of red pine, oak and Norway spruce. The analysis also included a non forested areas with patches of trees, hedges and solitary trees on the surface of 39.27ha, consisting primarily of deciduous trees. Function analysis showed that both in terms of area and degree of accent ecological forest functions are prevailing over social functions. Of the social functions in addition to hygene-medical functions primarily are important recreational and aesthetic functions. The study is describing the main problems of forest land, ie. gravel, illegal dumps and water coverage. It is characterized by fragmentationof forest property with a lot of co-owners, making it impossible to integrated forest management. The study puts forward suggestions for improving the functioning of ecological and social functions, especially recreational and aesthetic functions

    Obnovitev katastra dreves mesta Idrija

Z diplomsko nalogo so želeli ugotoviti stanje dreves v mestu Idrija - popisali so urbano drevje na javnih površinah mesta Idrija, ugotovili njihovo število, vrstno sestavo, premer, višino, starost, prostor za korenine in krošnjo, stanje, poškodovanost ter predvideli ukrepe in stroške za izvedbo del. Drugi del naloge je bil namenjen izdelavi registra in katastra popisanih dreves. Vsakemu drevesu so določili zaporedno številko s pripadajočimi popisnimi parametri. Skupno so popisali 1358 dreves, od tega 21,8 % iglavcev in 78,2 % listavcev. Določili so 47 rodov in 70 vrst. The aim of this graduation thesis was to list individual urban trees in publicareas of Idrija, define their number, species structure, diameter, height, age, roots and crown space, state, damage, and to determine measures to be taken along with the costs of their realization. The second part of the thesis includes register and cadastre of inventoried trees. All trees were assigned successive numbers and appropriate inventory parameters. In total, 1,358 trees have been listed - 21.8% conifers and 78.2% deciduous trees. 47 different genera and 70 species were defined. Predominating genera are lime trees (Tilia), maple trees (Acer) and pine trees (Picea). Most of the trees belong to the group of subjects with diameter that does not exceed 10 cm. Moreover, regarding height, the majority of trees belong to the group of 11 to 15 m tall subjects (26.9%), whereas regarding age, most trees can be assigned to the group of medium age trees (37.5%). It was established that 54.7 % of all trees are healthy, 30.3% are mildly damaged, 14.6% are heavily damaged, and there are less than 1% of dying or withered subjects. Appropriatemeasures have been assigned to 448 trees, the costs of all works would reach 47,437.63 euro. We compared our research to Čibej\u27s inventory (2000), and found out that there are differences in tree number and species structure, which could be the result of slightly different inventory area, mistakes that were made during inventory taking, and/or various alterations (felling/planting) in the town of Idrija

Factors of quality and safety of recreation in the urban forest

In the forest within the landscape park Tivoli, Rožnik and Šišenski hrib, we analysed the factors that affect the safety and quality of recreational activities in the urban forest. Using a combination of remote sensing data we sought to map individual trees belonging to the five most common tree species (spruce, Scots pine, beech, combined data for sessile oak and pedunculate oak, sweet chestnut ) and obtain reliable and detailed data on the stages of decay of forest trees which could pose a safety threat to visitors. The average classification accuracy of the five tree species was 58 %. However, the method did not yield a sufficiently high precision of automatic segmentation of tree crowns that would a llow identification of individual trees along the forest paths. Using an innovative integrated approach of physical field measurements and a survey, we found that hikers in urban forests can perceive environmental impacts of recreational activities in the forest and that these impacts can impair the quality of their experience. The more impacts they perceive, the worse their experience can be. In this study, the age, education and origin of the participants (whether from urban or rural environments) affected mainly the scope of perception of the environmental impacts of recreational activities , but not the experience of the study participants. For example, they detected signifi cantly more litter and mud as there actually was to be found along the way. By analysing all types and categories of the paths (roads, official trails and informal trails) we sought to determine whether the existing network can meet the demand for adequate logistic infras tructure. We found that the extensive network of informal trails in the northern and eastern area of the park indicates a significantly greater need for trails compared to the official infrastructure available to visitors. Because of the use of additional trails, the potential surface area of quiet zones (i.e. areas with no formal trails) decreases by approximately 80 %, and the average zone sized ecreases by about 90 %, which may affect the species diversity of this forest
