Pingree Park Meteorological Data, 1977-1978
This dataset contains precipitation data for September, October, and November of 1977 at Pingree Park and Quigley Mountain. The dataset also includes Pingree Park Meteorological Data for 1978
Pingree Park Meteorological Data 2003 to 2008
This dataset contains meteorological data from Pingree Park from 2003 to 2008. The variables are air temperature, relative humidity, vapor pressure, wind speed, direction, maximum wind velocity and timing, shortwave radiation, soil temperature (5cm, 10cm, 20cm), and soil moisture (5cm, 10cm, 20cm)
Westward moving waves or eddies (Storms) on the Subtropical/Azores Front near 32.5°N? Interpretation of the Eulerian currents and temperature records at moorings 155 (35.5°W) and 156 (34.4°W)
Pingree Park Daily Mean Temperature Data from 1972 to 1977
This dataset contains daily mean temperature data from Pingree Park from 1972 to 1977. For each month, a monthly mean is also recorded. The monthly mean was also solved for as well in excel

this just in piece on the changing campaign of Democrat Chellie Pingree, who is seeking to replace U.S. senator Susan Collins, R-Maine. Pingree was focused on federal legislation that would mirror her Maine Rx program. But the U.S. Supreme Court recently decided to hear the pharmaceutical industry\u27s appeal of a lower-court ruling upholding the legality of Maine Rx, which effectively neutralizes it as a campaign issue, as the court could take up to a year to issue its opinion. In light of the recent Enron and WorldCom debacles, Pingree has now switched her focus to the Maine Disclosure Law, a 1998 piece of her own legislation that addresses corporate accountability. Her new Common Sense Agenda is a five-point platform focusing on strengthening corporate disclosure, enhancing corporate oversight, protecting pensions and 401(k)s, criminalizing corporate fraud, and closing corporate loopholes that allow overseas tax shelters for major companies, among other things

Cover Story piece on Chellie Pingree, who has been named president and CEO of Common Cause, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to political reform. Pingree is a former Maine state senator and ran for the U.S. Senate in 2002, losing to incumbent Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine. Common Cause is best known for its advocacy for the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act. With an interview in question-and-answer format explaining Common Cause issues and discussing Maine\u27s Clean Election Act
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Cover Story piece on former State Senate Majority Leader Chellie Pingree, 46, of North Haven, who is seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge U.S. Senator Susan Collins, R-Maine, whose term expires in 2002. With the Democratic arguments against re-electing Collins, and the Republican response
Variability and seasonality of physical and biological fields at the Great Meteor Tablemount (subtropical NE Atlantic)
Five oceanographic surveys were conducted at the Great Meteor Tablemount (subtropical NE Atlantic; 30.0 degreesN, 28.5 degreesW) throughout the 1992-1999 period tc, investigate temporal variability in the relationship between the physical structure of the water column associated with the seamount and phytoplankton biomass and/or production rates. Local increases in chlorophyll a, enhanced carbon incorporation rates and changes in phytoplankton species composition were associated with the seamount. These effects were subjected to a large degree of temporal and spatial variability both at seasonal and shorter time scales.
"Closing the R&D Gap, Evaluating the Sources of R&D Spending"
Both spending and tax policies have been implemented in the United States with the goal of stimulating private sector research and development (R&D). Karier questions whether current R&D policy, especially the research and experimentation tax credit, can contribute to closing the gap between nondefense expenditures on R&D in the United States and such expenditures in other countries, such as Japan and Germany. He also explores possible changes to our current R&D policy to make it more effective.
