No full textGabriele d’Annunzio ha sempre avuto un amore speciale per Venezia. Ancor prima del suo “viaggio iniziatico” nel 1887, l’ha posta al centro di alcuni suoi scritti giornalistici del periodo romano che si rivelano essere un singolare “rito preparatorio” a quella visita tanto attesa. Oltre all’intramontabile fascino della Serenissima, la sua attenzione è rivolta al Carnevale, al mondo delle maschere e all’eredità di Carlo Goldoni. Ed è questo il cammino sotterraneo che l’ha poi portato a elaborare il romanzo Il Fuoco, in cui considera la protagonista Foscarina (alter ego di Eleonora Duse) l’ultima discendente di quella gloriosa stirpe di attori avviata nel XVIII secolo da Cesare d’Arbes.

The Performance of PIA Housing Portfolio
No full textDespite extensive studies have examined the risk and return level of housing investment in Australia, the effect of debt financing on housing investment has not been adequately addressed in the real estate literature. This study examines the performance of housing investment from the perspective of housing investors’ equity. Unlike traditional return estimations, debt financing was considered in this analysis. More specifically, it examines the return and risk profile of housing investment from the perspective of housing investors’ equity. To undertake a performance analysis of housing investment from the perspective of housing investors’ equity, a hypothetical housing portfolio was formulated. It is also known as PIA housing portfolio was formulated. The performance of PIA housing portfolio is assessed with a performance analysis. The results are also compared with the overall Sydney units market. Importantly, the effect of debt on the investment performance of the equity position is also considered. Specifically, the performance of the PIA housing equity position is investigated

Maria Pia Pagani, Eleonora Duse: a Diva on the Screen
No full textFrom a historiographical point of view, the stardom of Eleonora Duse (Vigevano 1858 – Pittsburgh 1924) provides a very important international case-study. This is because Duse is still considered the greatest of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century Italian theatre actresses. Although enormously famous, is relevant to consider her celebrity before and after her only film performance in Cenere (Ashes, Italy 1916), a movie taken from the homonymous novel by Grazia Deledda (Nobel Prize for Literature in 1926). For this reason, after a century from the death of Duse (21st April 1924 – 21st April 2024), this paper explores her myth of Duse on the screen and its vitality in the New Millennium

The Politics of Resonance
No full text‘GIB SIE WIEDER’1 is a series of two political compositions, dedicated to exceptional performers Garth Knox (viola d’amore) and Rhodri Davies (harp). In this project the central focus is on resonance in both a musical and wider socio-cultural sense. Finding the term closely correlated to the construction of gender, I direct my inner ear to the hidden background noises of the organisation of society. As a woman and composer, I perceive aural patterns of individual and political significance. In this work my aim is to to deconstruct engrained structures of resonance and assumptions of gender, and redefine them from a personal perspective as the basis for a new compositional identity. In this article, I identify my political perspective as an artist, and describe how this affects and stimulates my creative process. I discuss the compositional approach taken in the two compositions making up ‘GIB SIE WIEDER’ and their public performances in 2014

Il pontificato di Pio VI Braschi (1775-1798) fu un'età fervida di promesse riformatrici e di fermenti culturali caratterizzati dal culto dell'Antichità.
Con il deteriorarsi della situazione economica e politica questa ammirazione degli Antichi si trasformò progressivamente in un atteggiamento critico, fino agli esiti rivoluzionari del 1798-99, quando una parte delle élites, educate nella classicità, dimostrò con l'adesione alla Repubblica giacobina Romana il distacco dalla monarchia cattolica. Analizzando la pubblicistica, la sociabilità culturale, la biografia collettiva di molti intellettua-
