No full textThe text was written on the occasion of the Olivetti Makes exhibition organized by the Polytechnic of Turin and Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, curated by Pier Paolo Peruccio, exhibition design Alessandro Colombo and Paola Garbuglio- held at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City from October 22, 2018 January 13, 2019. The exhibition, placed in the frame of Mexico City World Design Capital 2018, has retraced a chapter not so far investigated in the history of Olivetti, founded in 1908 in Italy in Ivrea, an industrial city registered in 2018 by UNESCO in the List of World Heritage Sites. Olivetti Makes illustrated the concrete dimension of Olivetti's cultural and industrial policy in Mexico, starting in December 1949, when the first nucleus of a company for the sale of Olivetti products was established
Gui Bonsiepe and ICSID

His critiques highlighted the need for design to address real-world problems rather than becoming overly academic. Bonsiepe's innovative work, particularly with Olivetti, showcased the potential of interface design. As a board member of ICSID/WDO, he played a crucial role in advocating for design within 'peripheral' economies. This period also saw ICSID gain international recognition from UNESCO.
