Mycosis fungoides. Clinical and molecular biology observations
In the last years, considerable progress has been achieved in the field of cutaneous lymphomas. In the new classification of the EORTC Lymphoma Study Group, mycosis fungoides (MF) has been included among the 'indolent' entities, characterized by a benign clinical behaviour. In this article, the clinical features of MF and its variants, the histological, immunohistochemical and molecular aspects as well as the most recent acquisitions on its pathogenetic mechanisms and therapeutical modalities are discussed. Some MF-related entities such as MF-associated follicular mucinosis, pagetoid reticulosis, granulomatous slack skin as well as parapsoriasis are described and their recent nosological classification is underlined
