Started from level L = 0, eta is the number of points within each circle at each level, the radius at each level is R / lambda ^ L and total points are eta ^ L. The fractal dimension D = log(eta)/log(lambda). The corresponding slope in 2D two-point correlation function is D – 2.

Polovinu ceny získal jeden z předních žijících kosmologů James Peebles. Od počátku 60. let systematicky a důkladně studuje fyzikální procesy odehrávající se v raném vesmíru i během jeho následné evoluce. Zásadně tím ovlivnil moderní kosmologii, z níž se nyní stala ucelená a věrohodná vědní disciplína opírající se o logický systém teoretických modelů podporovaný velmi přesnými pozorováními. Peebles je odborníkem především na primordiální vznik prvků, reliktní mikrovlnné záření a formování galaktických struktur. Jeho vědecké práce, knihy a učebnice inspirovaly bezpočet kolegů i studentů

Below is the text of a second letter entitled ''Common Sense,'' written in September 1863 and enumerates the ways in which the Confederacy and Texas were suffering because of Civil War, ending with an exhortation to vote for candidates who would bring peace.Notes from catalog record. The three men accused of promulgating the 1863 broadside, ''Common Sense'' were D.J. Baldwin, E. Seelinger, and Dr. Richard Rogers Peebles. They signed the piece as ''Vicksburg.'
