Memo to Mrs. Fletcher
AF is unhappy that Bernyce is taking a selfish attitude about her earnings. He notes that his pay has always been communal and has been used to help relatives on her side of the family far more than his. Contains some interesting stats on where his pay was coming from when, and how much. AF&A had an office from 1974 to March 1977. AF&A ultimately lost both the Belvoir and Carlysle contracts, and it happened when Rick Harrison, Onna's son, needed a hip operation. He refers to Rick as "your grandson," perhaps indicating that he never adopted Joan. AF feels that Bernyce berayed him by not being caring enough during his health problems. AF "gave Paul a hand when he needed it," which made Bernyce upset. AF claims to not care about money. He feels that Bernyce is using money to mask an underlying problem in the marriage
Autobiography of Mrs. Fletcher of Edinburgh
Eliza Fletcher (born Eliza Dawson) (1770–1858) was an English writer, literary patron and supporter of parliamentary reform and liberal politics. Fletcher became a patron of the poets Ann Yearsley and Hannah More, and later in life formed friendships with prominent writers Elizabeth Gaskell and Harriet Martineau. After her marriage to politician and electoral reformer Archibald Fletcher in 1791, she became more radical in her political views. This volume, first published in 1874, contains Fletcher's autobiography, edited by her daughter, Lady Mary Richardson. Fletcher describes her life chronologically, providing fascinating detail on her childhood and adolescence, and citing correspondence illustrating her relationships with her friends. She provides sharp observations on political issues and describes the social and literary circles in which she moved, giving valuable information on literary society and politics during the early nineteenth century. A Letter to My Moms
Phillip Fletcher writes to Bernyce from Vacaville Prison. He has six more months to serve, and has been told that after he's medically cleared (following his fall in the shower) he'll be transferred to Fulsome. He basically tells Bernyce that he loves her and isn't angry with her, and he won't be talking much with Paul and his sisters because they keep bringing up his past and he wants to move on
