No full textEsta dissertação tem por objetivos: levantamento, indexação e análise dos textos publicados pelo escritor Afonso Henriques de Lima Barreto (1881-1922) no periódico carioca A.B.C. (1915-1934), que foram veiculados de 1916 a 1922, com ênfase na série de capítulos da sátira Os Bruzundangas; e a investigação do hebdomadário visando ao esboço de um perfil para a publicação. A análise dos textos foi feita em seu conjunto, o que, até hoje, a fortuna crítica do autor não havia realizado, tentando notar possíveis condicionamentos do veículo sobre sua produção. A dissertação contém, em anexo, texto de Lima Barreto inédito em livro, cotejo crítico dos capítulos d’Os Bruzundangas publicados no A.B.C., indexação do semanário no período de publicação da sátira e ilustrações. Com tudo isso, o estudo pretende contribuir para uma maior compreensão da obra de Lima Barreto e auxiliar futuros pesquisadores do autor e do tema em questãoThis dissertation intends to gather, index and analyze texts published by author Afonso Henriques de Lima Barreto (1881-1922) on the periodical A. No full textPretendemos com este estudo apresentar o Libro de los Exemplos por A.B.C. do autor espanhol Clemente Sánchez de Vercial (ca. 1370-1438), fazer um apanhado das principais investigações publicadas até ao momento acerca da obra que esteve mais de 400 anos desaparecida, e sugerir algumas linhas de estudo no que diz respeito às fontes utilizadas, aos géneros literários de que o autor se serviu, aos temas tratados e à linguagem. Procuraremos também contextualizar a obra na época, do ponto de vista religioso, linguístico e cultural.The aim of this study is to present the Libro de los Exemplos por A.B.C. by the Spanish author Clemente Sánchez de Vercial (ca. 1370-1438), to summarise the main research carried out to date on the work, which has been missing for more than 400 years, and to suggest some lines of study with regard to the sources used, the literary genres the author used, the themes dealt with and the language. The 228 valence electron rule for onion-like inorganic fullerenes X1@Y12@Z20 of Ih and Th symmetry
No full textBased on an analysis of the experimentally known 228e- valence electron systems AsNi12As203-, SbNi12Sb203-, SbPd12Sb203-, and SnCu12Sn2012- of Ih symmetry, the new species GeZn12Ge20, KrNi12As20, BrNi12As201-, SeNi12As202-, GeMn12Br20, SeCo12Se206+, and SeFe12Se206- have been designed according to the 228 electron rule introduced in this study for onion-like inorganic fullerenes composed of late main group and transition metal elements. Of these GeZn12Ge20, KrNi12As20, BrNi12As201-, SeNi12As202-, and GeMn12Br20 together with the known AsNi12As203- and its neutral counterpart were investigated at the DFT B3LYP/6-31G(d) level of theory. With one exception they show, in fact, two stable energetic minima of Ih and Th symmetry. Relaxing the symmetry constraints further, e.g. Y12 = {Q6,R6}, additional new neutral species of the general composition Z@Q6R6@Z20 of C5v and C2v symmetry can be formulated, i.e. Z = Se, Q = Fe, R = Mn, following this new building principle, therefore, supporting and inspiring the development of new materials of icosahedral and tetrahedral symmetry.

No full textThe basic premise of this paper is that inclusion in early childhood education in Aotearoa New Zealand is a worthy focus of early childhood education curriculum and that an anti-bias philosophy assists in developing curriculum that is inclusive. It is claimed that the early childhood curriculum in Aotearoa New Zealand is an emancipatory one, and arguments for activism and anti-bias principles in support of curriculum implementation are made. Drawing on anti-bias principles, the current curriculum statement (Te Whāriki: Early Childhood Curriculum) is examined to ascertain what support for anti-bias foci exists. Teaching strategies based upon discussion, critical thinking and an awareness of diversity themes/difference are considered in support of active anti-bias work in early childhood education

Denslow was well known for including a seahorse as part of his signature.W. W. Denslow was an illustrator and caricaturist best remembered for his work in collaboration with author L. Frank Baum, especially his illustrations of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." Born in Philadelphia, Denslow spent brief periods at the National Academy of Design and the Cooper Institute in New York, but was largely self-educated and self-trained.
