Mobile phones in Africa: opportunities and challenges for academic librarians
No full textLack of Internet access and availability of computers in Africa has hindered learning and teaching there. However, the growing prevalence of mobile phones in Africa and elsewhere has created a way for information to be quickly and easily disseminated in areas where access to the Internet and computers are limited. Mobile phones in Africa are currently being used to share information relating to agriculture, as well as other critical topics such as health and finance. Il volume di Palumbo ne ricostruisce le fonti, soffermandosi sul sospetto di plagio che grava sull’opera, ed esamina la fortuna della pregevole compilazione

No full textThe paper examines the theoretical foundations of empirical research on potential output. Based on the idea that long-run potential output is supply-determined and is a strong attractor of actual output, current estimates often amount simply to assuming that potential output is the trend of the actual output series. The absence of any systematic output-inflation relationship in actual data explains the variability and uncertainty typically characterizing estimates.
From a demand-led growth perspective, potential output is instead regarded as endogenously determined by the actual growth path. It is defined as a short-period notion and independently of inflation data. Policy implications are considered

One of these causes is to be found in the similarity of thought and behaviour between Socrates and the sophists. Such a similarity, evident in Aristophanes’ works, is denied in Plato’s dialogues, but it is exactly in those dialogues, if one delves into them deeply enough, that it is possible to find out all the reasons why Socrates was sentenced to death
