(Ne)mogućnost prevođenja poezije – Suho mjesto Vide Sever

    No full text
Within an already complex field of literary translation, the issue of the (im)possibility of translating poetry has always been considered a special topic within a more general discussion on (un)translatability. While combining insights from areas of study such as philosophy of language, linguistics, and translation studies, the primary objective of this thesis was to deepen the understanding of (un)translatability by analyzing challenges that arise in literary translation, with a particular focus on translating poetry. Another objective was to show that the acceptance of difficulties that lie in translating poetry is the first step toward the search for translation strategies that will enable the translator to convey the author’s poetic language and style, as well as the form, meaning, and metaphors found in the source text. Finally, the topics of translator as/and author and invisibility of/in translation were analyzed with regard to simpatico, all the while using the debut collection of poems A Dry Place (Suho mjesto, 2021) by a young Croatian contemporary poet Vida Sever as a case study reflecting the complexity that lies in translating poetry

The current research is dedicated to the aspects of ecoliterature and ecocriticism in literature and literary studies. In the first part of the master’s thesis the author researches various directions of ecoliterature, aspects of feeling the nature and nature philosophy, investigates different genres of ecoliterature and their classification as well as provides a critical insight into the new direction of research – Human-Animal Studies – and the potential of methodological use of it in the genre of science fiction. In the second part of the research paper, the author has detected the patterns of representation of animals in the short novels by a science fiction writer Sever Gansovsky («Двое», «Спасти декабра!». These patterns are characteristic of the particular writer as well as of the genres of science fiction. The master’s thesis also concerns the issues of ecology and ecologisation of culture as well as the aspects of relationships between humans and animals in the modern world. The research might be of interest to philologists working in the field of ecoliterature and its aspects as well as to researchers who are interested in the creative work of Sever Gansovsky, science fiction, aspects of ecology and relationships between humans and animals

The traditional economy of Yakutia and AIC “Sever”: organizational and managerial decisions of the second half of the 1980s — 1991

    No full text
On the basis of archival documents, entered into scientific circulation, the author considers the local experience of organizational and management activities in relation to the farms of the North of Yakutia within a specially created agro-industrial complex (AIC). In the considered period of the AIC “Sever” ac-tivities, in 1989-1991, organizational processes of unbundling of state farms and the beginning of reorgani-zation of management were decisive. At the end of 1990s, for the first time, decisions on transition to market relations were officially declared by the AIC. At the same time, the real social and economic situation of farms had already begun to show the deterioration, incl. a decrease in the quantitative indicator — reduction in the number of farms in the studied areas. As it is in the documents, the state of home reindeer husbandry, the leading economic sector in the North, was of a particular concern

Some of Tenney's earlier writings and compositions are also examined as precursors to his later works. The primary compositions examined in this paper include Glissade, Koan for String Quartet, Bridge, and Changes: Sixty-four Studies for Six Harps. This paper examines Tenney's theoretical contributions to musical form, harmony, tuning, and aural perception. Tenney's works are presented as rigorous experiments and focused explorations of specific musical concepts and questions. The four primary works examined are presented as the culmination of almost thirty years of such experiments.Tenney is presented as a contemporary musical pioneer in the continuing tradition of American experimentalism that began with Charles Ives and continued with Carl Ruggles and John Cage. The author concludes that James Tenney is a major American composer whose past and on-going contributions to theory, perception, and composition are too important to be ignored in contemporary performance and scholarly circles.Made available in DSpace on 2011-05-07T12:18:54Z (GMT). As it is known, there are two ways to terminate the rent contract in dwelling house and in workplace with frame. The first one is via declaration and the second one is via legal action. In this point, we are going to generally examine the ending of rent contract with a given period and contract wilh an indefinite period. Moreover, we are not going to mention about the validity of declaration topic. As draft of Turkish Law of Obligations and its legislative intention, (which is presented to TBMM Presidency by T. C Prime Ministry General Directorate of Law and Resolve, prepared by Ministry of Justice and agreed on the date of 24.12.2007 by Council of Ministers) analyzed, it is obviously seen that, the anxiety in society created by lessor with contract, who is not the direct owner of leasehold for a long time, is taken into consideration. So, when the circumstances in article occured, landlord has a legal right to end the rent contract unilaterally, without paying any compensation
