Integrin CR3 mediates the binding of non specifically opsonized B.burgdorferi to human phagocyte and mammalian cells.
Biological activity of a peptidoglycan extracted from Leptospira interrogans: in vitro studies.
Methods for defecting sperm apoptosis
Simultaneous evaluation of apoptosis and sperm chromatin status is important for processing sperm in assisted reproductive procedures, but a reliable method to detect sperm apoptosis should be use
Effects of interferon on immunoglobulin production in normal subjects and in patients with selective IgA deficiency. An "in vitro" study
Fas in human semen
The authors state that sperm apoptosis is a useful indicator of male infertility in the case of varicocele, while being unable to detect Fas and Fas-L on sperm cells. At the same time, they also claim that the presence of Fas is a debated issue. We demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that Fas is not present in human sperm and clarified that detections of Fas from other authors were due to interference with leukocytes in seminal samples. To prove this, we performed semen analysis through a multiparameter flow cytometry method that excluded leukocytes from the sperm population
Interaction with Borrelia burgdorferi causes increased expression of the CR3 integrin and increased Binding affinity to fibronectin via CR3.
