Guida alla lettura del paesaggio geomorfologico ligure
I geositi, cioè i beni geologico-geomorfologici, rappresentano elementi o aree di grande pregio scientifico, ambientale, paesaggistico.
Censirli e conoscerli significa avere maggiori strumenti per gestire meglio il territorio, per fruirlo con più consapevolezza, per valutare la compatibilità tra le scelte di sviluppo socio-economico della nostra comunità e la tutela paesitico-ambientale.
Questo volume, che può essere letto a più livelli, vuole servire a questo.
Al tempo stesso rappresenta la profonda riflessione che sta coinvolgendo chi si occupa del futuro della nostra regione
L’Atlante, in un gioco di richiamo continuo tra testo e immagini, spiega con chiarezza perché le montagne, i fiumi, le pianure e le spiagge che abbiamo tutti i giorni sotto i nostri occhi sono lì dove li osserviamo.
Accompagna, anche per mezzo della “Carta dei geosti” allegata, nella visita commentata di luoghi affascinanti, spesso inclusi nelle Aree Protette liguri.
Il catalogo dei geositi liguri, che chiude il testo, è frutto di un lungo lavoro di censimento che non si può definire concluso.
Tuttavia la grande mole di dati e materiale, accumulato in questi anni di studio ne giustifica ampiamente la diffusione ed i professionisti dell’ambiente e del territorio, nel volume e sul sito internet collegato, troveranno importanti e precise notizie tecniche.
Così, man mano che si procede nella lettura, il paesaggio che ci circonda acquista sempre maggior significato e, quindi, valore.
Un valore ideale ma anche materico, fatto di suoli, stratificazioni che si sono fatte colture, borgate, percorsi, pendii, pianure irrigate, boschi, meandri di fiumi, lembi di costa, con le civiltà, i segni, i suggerimenti e i “vincoli” che di tutto questo portano traccia evidente.
Un valore che deve essere riconquistato anche da chi ha il compito istituzionale (la Regione, l’Università) di guidare la realizzazione del “nuovo” verso percorsi non barbari ma di cosciente equilibrio fra valori e funzioni, fra nuovi paesaggi e memoria dei luoghi.
ATLAS OF LIGURIAN GEOSITES
Guide to the geomorphological landscape of Liguria
Geosites, identified as site of the geological and geomorphological importance, represent elements of great scientific, environmental and landscape value. A better knowledge of this geological heritage, starting from a census of main geosites, represents an important tool for improving territorial management, for assessing the compatibility of socio-economic development and environmental protection, and also for promoting a greater awareness in the tourism exploitation of a region. To this aim, this volume, which can be read at several levels, wants to improve the comprehension and divulgation of geological heritage in the Liguria Region.
The Atlas, by means of text and images, explains clearly why those mountains, rivers, plains and beaches that we see daily, are exactly there and why they are shaped in that way.
The "Charter of geosites" included in the Atlas conducts the reader in a guided tour, describing fascinating places, often included in the Protected Areas of Liguria.
The catalog of geological sites of Liguria, which concludes the book, is the result of a long work of census, which however can not be defined completed. Nevertheless, the large amount of data collected over years largely justifies their dissemination: in this volume and in the related website, professional will find relevant and accurate technical information.
Thus, during the reading, the landscape around us will become more meaningful and valuable. Not only an ideal value, but also a material one, made of soil layers, meandering rivers and stretches of coastline that have been transformed by the civilization in crops, terraces and irrigated plains, conserving signs, tips and "constraints" that underline evident trace of the role of geology in shaping the landscape. A value that must be preserved by those who has the institutional task (the Region, the University) to lead the path through a new territorial development, characterized by a conscious balance between values and functions, between places of memory and new landscapes
STRATEGIE PROGETTUALI PER I NUOVI PAESAGGI LIGURI
No full textI cambiamenti climatici dovuti alla globalizzazione causeranno un innalzamento della temperature e una maggiore intensità degli eventi di pioggia. In Liguria queste condizioni renderanno urgenti azioni di miglioramento del microclima urbano costiero e di protezione dei paesaggi rurali contro l’abbandono e l’erosione. Nei paesaggi urbani costieri è importante creare e rafforzare sistemi di verde urbano, per aumentare la qualità degli ecosistemi urbani, e progettare specifiche tipologie di verde urbano (dalle aree industriali dismesse ai parcheggi, ai campeggi e alle passeggiate a mare) utilizzando macchie di bosco, alberi ed arbusti con basse esigenze idriche e di manutenzione. Nei paesaggi rurali terrazzati è interessante il caso delle serre del sanremese, sistemi di produzione intensiva in parte dismesse e obsolete, in crisi a causa della globalizzazione del mercato: sono necessari progetti integrati per creare cooperazione tra i produttori, con l’obiettivo di individuare nuovi interessanti prodotti (piante mediterranee o aromatiche), attraverso la trasformazione delle serre in coltivazioni in “pien’aria” o in nuove serre high-tech, con sistemi di auto-produzione di energia, e, in entrambi i casi, attraverso il recupero del sistema di raccolta delle acque, per drenaggio e irrigazione

The research here synthetically shown regards the geomorphic characterization of the main twentyrwo basins in the ligurian region. The aim
is to give a new instrument of analysis to the study of the geomorphic evolution of the basins.
We used three different kinds of approach: the quantitative geomorphic analysis of the basins, the analysis of the fractal dimension of the hydrographic
networks and the statistical analysis of two kinds of erosion features, the confluence between rivers and the discontinuity in the slope of the watersheds within the basins.
The basins are generally characterized by a low level of hierarchical structure, while the prevailing forms are extended in a direction almost
perpendicular to the coastline; besides the erosion processes seem to be strong in almost all the basins .
We have analyzed the distribution with the altitude of the junctions between rivers (particularly the junctions between two rivers of first order and two rivers of second order sensu Strahler) and the sudden changes in the slope of the watersheds within the basins.
The two distributions follow the same trends both in every basin and regarding the trend of the more frequent altitude class. This trends seem
to be related to the erosion cycles that have interested the basins. Finally the characterization given by the three approaches here presented seems
to allow a division of the area in three zones where the data are substantially homogeneously distributed
