[hw] // Re-pinned / on stainless [p] // CAYSTRUS / DUBIUS (Dist.) [hw] / det. P. KMENT 2015 [p]’ (BMNH). The holotype is 14.63 mm long, pronotum width across humeral angles 6.71 mm. It is pinned, left metatarsus, right mesotarsus and both distiflagellomeres (IV) are missing. Distribution. Laos (Distant 1921b). Taxonomy. Examination of the holotype and its comparison with species of Agathocles and Caystrus revealed that it markedly differs from the first genus and fits well the second one, especially in having the body short, more regularly oval and relatively flat, head relatively short, mandibular plates not expanded forward and strongly narrowing anteriad, pronotum with sharp margins, and pale brown dorsal colouration with longitudinal yellowish unpunctured lines along corial veins (cf. Figs 125–126). Therefore, we transfer this species to the genus Caystrus, resulting in a new combination: Caystrus dubius (Distant, 1921), comb. nov. Antennae, labium, legs and basal portion of genital capsule pale yellowish or ochraceous. Membrane fuscous with brownish veins. Body ventrally black, including posterior portion of genital capsule. Round fields surrounding abdominal trichobothria pale yellow.</p> <p> <i>Integument and vestiture.</i> Body above matt, covered with dense, coarse, round, black punctures; extreme lateral margin of corium with brownish punctures. Pronotum and scutellum with puncture interspaces forming transverse, often broken wrinkles. Body ventrally slightly shining, contrasting to matt evaporatorium. Head ventrally and pleura (except evaporatorium) with dense, coarse, round, black punctures; surface of abdominal ventrites with dense, fine and black punctures, except conexival segments ventrally impunctate. Abdomen ventrally with sparse, semierect, golden brown setae.</p> <p> <i> <i>Structure.</i> Head</i> (Figs 10–11, 64) shorter than wide (across eyes), head length to width ratio 0.73. Mandibular plates with lateral margins strongly insinuate in front of eyes above antenniferous tubercle, continually narrowing in front of eyes (Fig. 10), more narrowly rounded anteriorly; nearly meeting in front of clypeus, apex of clypeus narrowly free, leaving V-shaped apical incision in front of clypeus (Figs 10, 64); lateral margins of mandibular plates apically slightly reflexed upwards.Antennomeres from shortest to longest: I <IIa <IV = III <IIb, but ratios of antennal segments highly variable. Scape (I) surpassing apex of head about half of its length (Fig. 64); basipedicellite (IIa) short, 1.43–1.51× longer than scape, about half length of IIb (length of IIa: IIb ratio: 0.51–0.58×). Labiomeres from shortest to longest: I ≤ IV <III <II. Lenghts of labiomeres (median (minimum–maximum); in mm): Male (n = 5): I—1.00 (0.96–1.10), II—1.55 (1.35–1.64), III—1.37 (1.23–1.52), IV—1.06 (1.02–1.13); females (n = 5): I—0.99 (0.93–1.02), II—1.79 (1.61–1.86), III—1.51 (1.41–1.73), IV—1.04 (1.01–1.09). Labium reaching between mesocoxae or slightly beyond.</p> <p> <i>Pronotum</i> (Figs 60, 62, 64). Lateral tooth on anterolateral angles larger, directed laterad. Lateral pronotal margin narrowly reflexed upwards, anteriorly only minutely crenulate. Humeri rectangular to slightly obtusangulate, slightly surpassing laterad over base of corium. Posterior margin straight.</p> <p> <i>Scutellum</i> (Figs 60, 62). Disc of scutellum convex in prefrenal portion, its postfrenal portion flat, apex narrowly rounded.</p> <p> <i>Hemelytra</i> (Figs 60, 62). Costal margin of corium only indistinctly insinuated basally.</p> <p> <i>Thorax.</i> Ostiole large, oval, opening posteriad; peritreme basally narrow; median furrow short and wide, not apparent in apical half of peritreme length (Fig. 17). Metasternum narrow (Fig. 23).</p> <p> <i>Male genitalia</i> (Figs 66, 69–74, 81–87). Genital capsule (Figs 69–74) nearly quadrangular. Ventral rim (vr) shallowly bisinuate, nearly in level with rounded posterolateral projections; ventral rim infolding medially with short, median process, perpendicular to ventral rim (Figs 71, 74: mp); superior process of dorsal rim absent. Parameral socket closed, kidney-shaped (Fig. 74: ps). Paramere: Apical process (ap) short, hook-like; mesal angle of parameral crown (map) with broad, lobe-like projection of variable shape (Figs 84–87), perpendicular to main axis; basal process foliaceous, rather horizontally positioned, roughly semi-circular, with row of long hairs on its margin; inner side of crown with indistinct fine tooth-like projections; stem short and broad; apodeme expanded, platelike. Proctiger (Fig. 81) broad proximally and gradually narrowed towards distal end, consisting of a sclerotized anal tube and membranous anal segment. Phallus: Articulatory apparatus (Figs 82‒83) sclerotized with nearly Ushaped basal plate (bpt) and roughly T-shaped support bridge complex (sbc), distal end of support bridge complex slightly bilobate with a shallow median concave indentation, dorsal connective (dc) of support bridge complex widened distally into nearly plate-like capitate processes (cp). Phallotheca (Figs 78–80: pt) short, barrel-shaped, sclerotized and constricted at both ends, broadest medially, its dorsal wall and ventral wall convex medially; each ventrolateral surface of theca with a small, sclerotized tubercle near its orifice. A pair of dorsal conjunctival processes (dlc), transversely placed, elongate, wing-like in inflated form, their apices ends in hook-like processes; entire outer margin including margins of hook-like apex sclerotized, black, remaining region membranous; median penial plates or processes of aedeagus (pa) fused basally, outer margins broadly and thickly sclerotized, encircling aedeagus, aedeagus (ad) well sclerotized, tube-like, moderately long, slightly curved ventrad (Fig. 80).</p> <p> <i>Female genitalia</i> (Figs 31, 34–35). Laterotergite VIII (lt8) subtriangular, its dorsal margin indinstictly angulate (Fig. 34). Laterotergites IX (lt9) widely rounded apically, touching each other medially, segment X mostly obscured (Figs 31, 34). Valvifers VIII (vf8) quadrant with mesial margins straight, juxtaposed, dorsal margins slightly convex, dorsomesial angles slightly angularly produced (Figs 31, 34). Valvifers IX (vf9) fused medially with distinct impressed median fusion line, diverging ventrad. Pair of ring sclerites present, drop-shaped (Fig. 34: rs). Spermatheca (Fig. 35): dilation long, oval, inflated (Fig. 35), distal invagination (‘sclerotized rod’; Fig. 35) broadened distally, subparallel in most of its length, basally straight and slightly constricted; distal flange (df) separated from apical receptacle (Fig. 35); apical receptacle (ar) subglobular (Fig. 35) with five ductules or hook-like projections, one long projection directed proximad, approaching proximal flange (pf), two of them with base fused and apex broadly curved more or less distad, not surpassing distal flange and the remaining two are very short.</p> <p> <i>Measurements</i> (mm). See Table 2. Holotype (♂): Body length 13.46; head: length 2.31, width (including eyes) 3.22, interocular width 1.83; lengths of antennomeres: I—0.85, IIa—1.22, IIb—2.36, III & IV missing; pronotum: length 3.06, width (across humeri) 7.17; scutellum: length 4.76, width (across basal angles) 4.31; abdomen width (across segment III) 7.33.</p> <p> <b>Variability.</b> Ratios of length of antennomeres IIa to IV highly variable, arranged from shortest to longest: I <IIa <IV <IIb <III (1 specimen), I <IIa <IV <III <IIb (3 specimens), I <IIa <III <IIb (IV missing; 1 specimen), I <IIa <III = IV <IIb (1 specimen), I <IIa <IIb (III and IV missing; 4 specimens). Examination of dissected male genitalia of various specimens revealed the presence of slight differences in the shape of paramere, namely in the development of mesal angle of the crown, which could be prominent (Fig. 84), slightly angulate (Fig. 85), slightly roundly lobate (Fig. 86) to nearly straight or indistinct (Fig. 87).</p> <p> <b>Differential diagnosis.</b> See key and Table 3. The species may look similar to the genera <i>Praetextatus</i> and <i>Valescus</i> (as illustrated by Distant 1902), but those differ by scape not reaching apex of head and mesosternum furrowed (Distant 1902; Zahid 2006).</p> <p> <b>Etymology.</b> The species name <i>flavipes</i> is composed of the Latin <i>flavus</i>, meaning yellow, and <i>pes</i>, meaning foot, and refers to its pale yellowish legs; noun in apposition.</p> <p> <b>Bionomics.</b> Specimens of <i>A. flavipes</i> were collected mainly by sweep net on various plants and at light (Sodium vapour lamp). This species is known to feed on bamboo sprouts and also collected from paddy (<i>Oryza sativa</i> L.) though there is no proof of its development on paddy.</p> <p> <b>Distribution</b> (Fig. 139). Kment det. (NMPC). Redescription (male). Colouration (Figs 108–111). Body black, except clavus, corium, acetabula, genital capsule posteroventrally, antennomeres I–III, and legs blackish brown; labium and distiflagellum (IV) pale brown. Apices of humeri, apex of scutellum, propleuron sublaterally, lateral margin of abdominal ventrite II, antero- and posterolateral angles of connexival segments III to VII, and exocorium with small to very small, yellowish ochraceous callosities. Peritremal surface and small round fields surrounding abdominal trichobothria black. Membrane dark brown, translucent. Remaining parts of genital capsule yellowish. Integument and vestiture. Body shining, clavus, corium and evaporatorium matt. Body above covered with dense, coarse, black punctures, including apex of scutellum; only endocorium with punctures distinctly smaller and sparser than on exocorium; disc of pronotum (posteromedially) and scutellum (anteriorly) with prominent transverse wrinkles (Fig. 108); head underside and thoracic sterna with dense, coarse punctures; surface of abdominal sternites smooth with fine punctures. Body mostly glabrous (see generic description). Structure. Head (Fig. 9). Head slightly shorter than wide (length: width ratio 0.88). Mandibular plates with lateral margins distinctly sinuate in front of eyes above the small antenniferous tubercle, parallel-sided about their midlength, and regularly rounded anteriorly; mandibular plates not meeting anteriorly, apex of clypeus free, inner margins of apical incisure parallel. Antennomeres from shortest to longest: I <IIa <IV <IIb <III. Scape (I) reaching about apex of head, basipedicellite (IIa) distinctly (1.54×) longer than scape and shorter than IIb (length of IIa: IIb ratio: 1: 1.70). Labiomeres from shortest to longest (n = 1): I = IV (1.47 mm) <III (2.11 mm) <II (2.30 mm). Labium reaching between metacoxae. Pronotum (Figs 108, 110). Lateral tooth on anterolateral angles small, directed laterad (Fig. 9). Lateral pronotal margin anteriorly only minutely crenulate. Ostiole large, oval, opening posteriad; median furrow deep, reaching nearly apex of peritreme (Fig. 19). Metasternum medium wide. Male genitalia. Genital capsule (Figs 113–116) nearly quadrangular in dorsal/ventral view, longer than wide. Ventral rim deeply incised medially (Fig. 115); ventral rim infolding wide, medially with crescent-shaped depression (Figs 113–114). Superior processes of dorsal rim present, small, subtriangular (Figs 113–114, 117), trapezoid, laterally constricted about midlength (Fig. 113). Parameral socket open (Fig. 114). Paramere (Figs 118–124) with basal process with a foliaceous, roughly semicircular lobe positioned rather vertically, bearing row of many long setae (Figs 118, 121–122, 124); apical process hook-shaped, apically obtuse (Figs 118, 122, 124); mesal angle of stem without additional projection (Figs 118, 122, 124). Phallus (Figs 106–107) with pair of dorsal conjunctival processes transversely placed and ending in sclerotised processes, median penial plates (mpp) fused basally, outer margins broadly and thickly sclerotized, encircling short, curved aedeagus (ad). Female genitalia. Unknown. Measurements (mm). See Table 2. Distant (1901a) give the length of female holotype as 20.0 mm. Variation. The lectotype female differs from the examined male by presence of small yellowish callosities also on corium (Fig. 110). Differential diagnosis. See key and Table 3. This species could be recognized by combination of apically narrowly free clypeus, scape about reaching apex of head, and blackish-brown colouration with less conspicuous whitish spot with concolorous punctures at the apex of scutellum. Distribution (Fig. 139). Laos (new record), Myanmar (Distant 1901a, 1902). The record from India: West Bengal: Darjiling (Arnold & Arnold 2017) requires confirmation. Nomenclature. Distant (1901a) did not indicate the number and sex of the specimen(s) he studied, though a single measurement given suggests only one specimen. The ventral illustration of abdomen in Distant (1902) clearly shows a female. According to Maria Tavano (pers. comm.), there is only a single female labelled as ‘typus’ in the collection of the Museum of Natural History in Genoa, most probably the only specimen Distant studied. As such, &lt;i&gt;Paramecocoris&lt;/i&gt; must take the same type species as &lt;i&gt;Paramecus&lt;/i&gt; (ICZN 1999: Art. 67.8). St&aring;l (1854) included in &lt;i&gt;Paramecocoris&lt;/i&gt; four Afrotropical species, &lt;i&gt;P. ellipticus&lt;/i&gt; (Spinola, 1850) [= &lt;i&gt;Delagorguella elliptica&lt;/i&gt; Spinola, 1850], &lt;i&gt;P. fatidicus&lt;/i&gt; St&aring;l, 1854 [= &lt;i&gt;D. ventralis&lt;/i&gt; (Germar, 1837)], &lt;i&gt;P. lutulentus&lt;/i&gt; St&aring;l, 1854 [= &lt;i&gt;Erachteus lutulentus&lt;/i&gt; (St&aring;l, 1854)], and &lt;i&gt;P. phaleratus&lt;/i&gt; St&aring;l, 1854 [= &lt;i&gt;D. phalerata&lt;/i&gt; (St&aring;l, 1854)]. St&aring;l (1876) used both generic names as valid: &lt;i&gt;Paramecus&lt;/i&gt; for &lt;i&gt;P. ruficornis&lt;/i&gt; (also accepted in Distant 1902), and &lt;i&gt;Paramecocoris&lt;/i&gt; for five African species. Kirkaldy (1909: xxxiii) wrongly designated &lt;i&gt;Delagorguella elliptica&lt;/i&gt; Spinola, 1850, as type species of &lt;i&gt;Paramecocoris&lt;/i&gt;, considering it junior synonym of &lt;i&gt;Delagorguella&lt;/i&gt; Spinola, 1850 (Myrocheini), while he placed &lt;i&gt;Paramecus ruficornis&lt;/i&gt; in the genus &lt;i&gt;Burma&lt;/i&gt; Kirkaldy, 1904 he proposed earlier as a new substitute name for &lt;i&gt;Paramecus&lt;/i&gt; Fieber, 1851. &lt;i&gt;Paramecocoris&lt;/i&gt; is the valid generic name for &lt;i&gt;Paramecus ruficornis&lt;/i&gt; Fieber, 1851 (with &lt;i&gt;Burma&lt;/i&gt; Kirkaldy, 1904 being its junior objective synonym), as it was noted already by Van Duzee (1929). However, the combination &lt;i&gt;Paramecocoris ruficornis&lt;/i&gt; (Fieber, 1851), &lt;b&gt;comb. nov.&lt;/b&gt;, is first formally proposed here. The species was described based on unknown number of specimens, i.e. syntypes, from &lsquo;Hinterindien (Dr. Helfer)&rsquo; which most probably refers to Tenasserim (southern Myanmar) where Czech entomologist J. W. Body above and below, including posterior portion of pygophore, black, except clavus and corium dark brown; connexival segments ventrally with narrow brown stripe sublaterally; acetabula and peritremal surface brownish; antennomeres I&ndash;III pale brown, distiflagellum (IV) pale ochraceous; legs brown, femora apically darker; labium and base of pygophore pale ochraceous. Apex of scutellum with large yellowish spot, smaller yellowish callosities on apices of humeral angles, at the end of median furrow on corium, and anterolaterally on metepimeron; dorsal surface of body, especially on corium, with very small yellowish ochraceous callosities. Membrane dark brown, translucent.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Integument and vestiture.&lt;/i&gt; Body shining, clavus, corium and evaporatorium matt. Body above covered with dense, coarse, black punctures, except impunctate apex of scutellum; endocorium with punctures sparser but equally large as on exocorium; disc of pronotum (posteromedially) and scutellum (anteriorly) with prominent transverse wrinkles (Fig. 88); head underside and thoracic sterna with dense, coarse punctures; surface of abdominal sternites smooth with fine punctures.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Structure.&lt;/i&gt; Head (Fig. 12). Head slightly shorter than wide (length: width ratio 0.79&ndash;0.88). Mandibular plates with lateral margins distinctly sinuate in front of eyes above the large antenniferous tubercle, parallel-sided about their midlength, and narrowly rounded anteriorly; mandibular plates not meeting anteriorly, apex of clypeus completely free, apical incisure in front of clypeus wide, trapeziform.Antennomeres from shortest to longest: I &lt;IIa &lt;IV &lt;IIb = III, but ratios of antennal segments highly variable. Scape (I) surpassing apex of head of about its halflength, basipedicellite (IIa) distinctly (1: 1.41‒1.93&times;) longer than scape and usually shorter than distipedicellite (IIb) (length of IIa: IIb ratio: 1: 1.00‒1.70). Labiomeres from shortest to longest (n = 1): IV (1.23 mm) &lt;I (1.57 mm) &lt;III (1.86 mm) &lt;II (2.06 mm). Labium reaching posterior margin of mesocoxae.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Pronotum&lt;/i&gt; (Fig. 88). Lateral tooth on anterolateral angles prominent, directed laterad (Fig. 12). Lateral pronotal margin anteriorly slightly serrate. Humeri rectangular, slightly surpassing laterad over base of corium. Posterior margin slightly concave.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Scutellum&lt;/i&gt; (Fig. 88). Disc of scutellum convex in prefrenal portion, its postfrenal portion flat; apex narrowly rounded.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Hemelytra.&lt;/i&gt; Costal margin of corium only slightly insinuated basally (Fig. 88).&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Thorax.&lt;/i&gt; Ostiole large, oval, opening posteriad; median furrow short and wide, not apparent in apical half of peritreme length (Fig. 18). Metasternum medium wide (Fig. 25).&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Male genitalia.&lt;/i&gt; Genital capsule (Figs 90&ndash;94) nearly quadrangular in dorsal/ventral view, longer than wide. Ventral rim deeply incised medially, sharp (Fig. 93); posterolateral projections prominent (Figs 93, 94); ventral rim infolding not visible (Fig. 91). Superior processes of dorsal rim elongate, crescent-shaped (Figs 90&ndash;91, 96). Proctiger trapezoid, short, without any constriction (Fig. 95). Parameral socket open (Fig. 91: ps). Paramere (Figs 97&ndash;101): basal process (bp) with a lamellate, horizontally oriented semicircular lobe, apically with group of few long setae (Figs 97, 101); apical process (ap) hook-shaped, apically more pointed (Figs 97&ndash;99); mesal angle of stem without any additional projection (Figs 97, 99, 101). Phallus (Figs 102&ndash;105): A pair of dorsal conjunctival processes (dlc), transversely placed and ending in triangular sclerotised processes (Fig. 105); median penial plates (mpp) or processes of aedeagus fused basally, outer margins broadly and thickly sclerotized, encircling short, curved aedeagus (Fig. 105: ad).&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Female genitalia&lt;/i&gt; (Figs 32, 36). Laterotergite VIII (lt8) subtriangular. Laterotergites IX (lt9) widely rounded apically, not touching each other medially, segment X visible (Fig. 32). Valvifers VIII (vf8) quadrant with median margins juxtaposed and dorsal margins slightly concave (Fig. 32). Valvifers IX (vf9) fused medially, with indistinct median fusion line, flat. Ring sclerites roughly circular, not apparently sclerotized in the specimen examined (Fig. 36). Spermatheca: dilation in the examined specimen swollen, whitish and not transparent, constricted subbasaly with sclerotized ring (Fig. 33), distal invagination (&lsquo;sclerotized rod&rsquo;; Fig. 33) visible only basally, strongly curved; distal flange (df) tightly attached to apical receptacle (ar) (Fig. 36); apical receptacle subhemispherical (Fig. 36) with one long projection directed proximad and nearly reaching proximal flange (pf), and one short processes directed proximad and reaching distal flange.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;i&gt;Measurements&lt;/i&gt; (mm). Ratios of length of antennomeres IIa to IV highly variable, arranged from shortest to longest: I &lt;IIa &lt;IV &lt;III &lt;IIb (3 specimens), I &lt;IIa = IIb &lt;III (IV missing; 1 specimen), I &lt;IIa &lt;IIb &lt;III (IV missing; 1 specimen), I &lt;IIa &lt;IV &lt;IIb &lt;III (2 specimens), I &lt;IIa &lt;IV &lt;IIb = III (2 specimen), I &lt;IV &lt;IIa &lt;IIb = III (1 specimen).&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;b&gt;Differential diagnosis.&lt;/b&gt; See key and Table 3.     Measuring service quality: The opinion of Europeans about utilities

    This paper provides a comparative analysis of statistical methods to evaluate the consumer perception about the quality of Services of General Interest. The evaluation of the service quality perceived by users is usually based on Customer Satisfaction Survey data and an ex-post evaluation is then performed. Another approach, consisting in evaluating Consumers preferences, supplies an ex-ante information on Service Quality. Here, the ex-post approach is considered, two non-standard techniques - the Rasch Model and the Nonlinear Principal Component Analysis - are presented and the potential of both methods is discussed. These methods are applied on the Eurobarometer Survey data to assess the consumer satisfaction among European countries and in different years
