A distributional approach to fractional Sobolev spaces and fractional variation: asymptotics I
No full textWe continue the study of the space BVα(Rn) of functions with bounded fractional variation in Rn of order α∈ (0 , 1) introduced in our previous work (Comi and Stefani in J Funct Anal 277(10):3373–3435, 2019). After some technical improvements of certain results of Comi and Stefani (2019) which may be of some separated insterest, we deal with the asymptotic behavior of the fractional operators involved as α→ 1 -. We prove that the α-gradient of a W1,p-function converges in Lp to the gradient for all p∈ [1 , + ∞) as α→ 1 -. Moreover, we prove that the fractional α-variation converges to the standard De Giorgi’s variation both pointwise and in the Γ -limit sense as α→ 1 -. Finally, we prove that the fractional β-variation converges to the fractional α-variation both pointwise and in the Γ -limit sense as β→ α- for any given α∈ (0 , 1)

Abstract
The intra-laminar (IL) thalamic complex, composed of centromedian (CM) and parafascicular (Pf) nucleus, is a strategic crossroad for the activity of the basal ganglia and is recently regaining its position has a putative neurosurgical target for Parkinsonian syndromes. The multi-target approach we have encouraged since the late nineties has allowed the combined implantation of a standard target (the subthalamic nucleus-STN or the internal pallidus-GPi) plus an innovative one (CM/Pf) in well-identified Parkinson's disease (PD) patients; hence, it is possible to study, in the same PD patients, the specific target-mediated effects on different clinical signs. Here, we focus on the potential usefulness of implanting the CM/Pf complex when required in the management of contra-lateral tremor (resistant to standard deep brain stimulation-DBS - in STN - , n=2) and disabling involuntary movements, partially responsive to GPi-DBS (n=6). When considering global UPDRS scores, CM/Pf-DBS ameliorate extra-pyramidal symptoms but not as strongly as STN (or GPi) does. Yet, CM/Pf acts very powerfully on tremor and contributes to the long-term management of l-Dopa-induced involuntary movements. The lack of cognitive deficits and psychic impairment associated with the improvement of their quality of life, in our small cohort of CM/Pf implanted patients, reinforces the notion of CM/Pf as a safe and attractive area for surgical treatment of advanced PD, possibly affecting not only motor but also associative functions

No full textPresentazione della natura e delle funzioni del Garante dei diritti dei minori quale organo nazionale che favorisce l'adeguamento dell'ordinamento italiano agli obblighi derivanti dalla Convenzione internazionale dei diritti del bambino. La figura, istituita con la legge 112/2011, è considerata in rapporto con le analoghe istituzioni di paesi europei e alla luce dell'esperienza dei Garanti operanti negli ultimi anni a livello regionale italiano. Un caso di studio è dato dall'esperienza del Garante/Pubblico Tutore dei minori della Regione del Veneto. I paragrafi 1. Quadro giuridico internazionale, Garanti europei e nuova legge italian; e 3. No full textE' un volume collocato all'interno di una collana dedicata all'analisi del significato storico e contemporaneo dei Comandamenti. Ciascun volume è opera di due autori: un teologo e un filosofo. In questo caso il contributo di C. Galli va da p. 79 a p. 167, e si intitola "In nome di Dio"; è la ricostruzione teorica e storica del significato del Secondo comandamento e delle trasformazioni che ha subito. La chiave interpretativa è che il Secondo comandamento è una teologia politica negativa, che indica la necessità e al contempo l'impossibilità che il Nome di Dio si associ alla politica. Su questa base, sono analizzate le diverse forme di teologia politica positiva (dell'agire in nome di Dio) che hanno caratterizzato la storia reale del cristianesimo, e anche la moderna secolarizzazione fino all'attuale ritorno del sacro in politica
