Millie Shankelton
Bookkeeper and missionary of the Aboriginal Inland Mission of Australia. Australian Inland Mission in 1940 felt that women were needed in Darwin and in particular to assist with welfare work so in the early war days Miss Shankelton arrived in the Territory. Settling in firstly at the Bagot Compound and then across the harbour at Delissaville when instructions for evacuation came. Miss Shankelton in charge of a group of 87 women, children and 2 missionaries departed by truck for Pine Creek where they stayed until Katherine was bombed and they were sent on to Alice Springs finally the evacuees reached Adelaide.
The war over and back to the Territory for Miss Shankelton to take charge of a children's home which was established at the Bagot settlement with 38 war 'orphans' to be looked after. Finally the Government subsidised the home and Millie was in charge until she was appointed Liaison Officer in 1962 and then in 1965 the Retta Dixon Kingstrand aluminium cottages were opened.
Miss Shankelton did not finish when the child left the home she kept in contact with practically every child who had ever left the home and this was many hundreds some came back to the home to see Millie.MissionaryChildren's Service

Exciton effects in the dimer and higher aggregates of a simple merocyanine dye. A CSINDO CI based theoretical study
A simple streptomerocyanine with five methine carbons (Mc) has been used as a suitable model system to investigate theoretically the optical properties in organized assemblies of merocyanine dyes. The subject was treated by a methodology making use of a semiempirical quantum chemistry description of the isolated chromophore within the Frenkel exciton theory. Both an extended CS INDO CIPSI and easier CS INDO SCI (with different parametrizations of electron repulsion integrals) schemes were applied in order to establish the role played by the quality of the wave functions. The exciton states were built on the (1)(pi pi*) (HOMO-LUMO) excited-state responsible for the color band of Me. Exciton effects were first analyzed for two stable dimer structures, having H- and J-type character, located by use of a semiempirical intermolecular potential and the simulated annealing method. Then, attention was shifted from dimers to higher-order model aggregates built in such a way as to obtain typical H (columnar) and J (staircase) arrangements. Exciton-state properties (energies and transition dipole moments) were studied as a function of the aggregation number N (up to N = 50). The results are discussed with reference to the approximations used to calculate the excitonic matrix as well as to the effects of changing from CIPSI to simple SCI schemes

Accounting for carbon emissions through green supply chain management: a systematic literature review
With the growing regulatory interest in supply chain carbon footprint, we provide a foundation for future enquiry into the role of green supply chain management (GSCM) on carbon accounting. We conduct a systematic literature review on a final set of 113 articles published between 2010 and 2024 using the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. Our approach comprises a bibliometric descriptive analysis, a thematic analysis based on clusters and the theory, context, and methodology (TCM) framework. The findings highlight the evolution of the field over time, primary publication outlets and subject areas, and the geographical distribution based on author affiliations and research context. Moreover, the thematic analysis reveals the theories, industries, research designs, and dominant themes in the GSCM literature associated with carbon accounting. After a synthesis of the findings, we group prior research based on the interconnected dimensions of (1) theoretical vs. empirical, (2) green supply chain flows, and (3) the level of analysis. Finally, we construct a comprehensive future research agenda based on existing knowledge gaps identified using the structured framework. This review presents key implications for both academia and industry in advancing GSCM practices to align with evolving carbon accounting requirements
