No full textLet H g be a genus g handlebody and MCG 2n(T g) be the group of the isotopy classes of orientation preserving homeomorphisms of T g = ∂H g, fixing a given set of 2n points. In this paper we study two particular subgroups of MCG 2n(T g) which generalize Hilden groups defined by Hilden in [Generators for two groups related to the braid groups, Pacific J. Math. 59 (1975) 475486]. As well as Hilden groups are related to plat closures of braids, these generalizations are related to Heegaard splittings of manifolds and to bridge decompositions of links. Connections between these subgroups and motion groups of links in closed 3-manifolds are also provided. © 2012 World Scientific Publishing Company

No full textThe present paper reports the analyses performed to investigate the influence of factors such as the rock mass quality and the in situ stress state on the deformational behaviour of rock masses.
New correlations among the deformability modulus, the RMR index and the modulus ratio have been obtained from the analysis of a great number of case records.
The comparison of these correlations with others, already established, allows useful considerations concerning the use of empirical approaches.
Finally, the influence of the confining stress state on the rock mass deformability has been proved and assessed.
Il presente articolo riporta le analisi svolte al fine di valutare l’influenza che fattori quali la qualità dell’ammasso roccioso e lo stato di sforzo in sito hanno sul comportamento deformativo dell’ammasso stesso. L’elaborazione e l’interpretazione di numerosi dati ricavati dalla letteratura, relativi alle proprietà di ammassi rocciosi in cui sono state realizzate opere di ingegneria, ha consentito di ottenere nuove correlazioni tra il valore del modulo di deformabilità dell’ammasso roccioso, l’indice RMR e il Rapporto di Modulo del materiale roccioso. Esse sono state confrontate con analoghe correlazioni già ben consolidate e di pratico utilizzo, pervenendo a utili considerazioni sull’applicabilità delle relazioni empiriche. È stato possibile accertare infine, qualitativamente e quantitativamente, l’influenza esercitata dall’azione di confinamento dovuta allo stato di sforzo in sito sul modulo di deformabilità dell’ammasso roccioso

No full textThe article deals with traumas, of different intensity, expressed by Hikmet in his verses, composed from his adolescence until his death, in different existential and political phases of his life as an exile, a prisoner of his own homeland and an honorary and monitored guest of the USSR, where he found shelter and safety, but also censorship and disappointment. The suffering that he endured, dealt with the perception of dramas animating the history of the colonized world of the early 20th century, as well as the discontent experienced in the USSR’s satellite States. This perception seems to become real and definite thanks to his cosmic and mystic conception of human beings, in spite of the accusation and declaration of “materialism” against the poet and claimed by the author himself
