Putting Up a Good Fight: The Galí-Monacelli Model versus “The Six Major Puzzles in International Macroeconomics”
No full textIn this paper, the following question is posed: Can the New Keynesian Open Economy Model by Galí and Monacelli (2005b) explain “Six Major Puzzles in International Macroeconomics”, as documented in Obstfeld and Rogoff (2000b)? The model features a small open economy with complete markets, Calvo sticky prices and monopolistic competition. As extensions, I explore the effects of an estimated Taylor rule and additional trade costs. After translating the six puzzles into moment conditions for the model, I estimate the five most effective parameters using simulated method of moments (SMM) to fit the moment conditions implied by the data. Given the simplicity of the model, its fit is surprisingly good: among other things, the home bias puzzles can easily be replicated, the exchange rate volatility is formidably increased and the exchange rate correlation pattern is relatively close to realistic values. No full textWe estimate the effects of government spending shocks on the CPI real exchange rate, the trade balance and their co-movements with GDP and private consumption. We decompose the variations of the CPI real exchange rate into variations of the traded goods real exchange rate and the relative price of traded to non-traded goods. We reach three main conclusions: a rise in government spending induces a "depreciation" of the CPI real exchange rate and a trade balance deficit; private consumption rises in response to a government spending shock and therefore co-moves positively with the real exchange rate; both components of the CPI real exchange depreciate. No full textL’utilizzazione estesa della figura dell’amministratore di sostegno comporta un notevole sforzo organizzativo da parte dell’apparato giuridico, che avrà necessità per la piena realizzazione del progetto di nuove risorse. D’altra parte il personale sanitario dovrà costruirsi una conoscenza approfondita dello strumento legale che viene proposto. Infine la componente socio-assistenziale, che è chiamata a gestire l’attivazione di questa nuova figura del panorama della rete assistenziale geriatrica, dovrà offrire una reale e autentica collaborazione con le famiglie e i medici.
Tale strumento giuridico risulta innovativo sul terreno dei destinatari di protezione con inclusione di tutti i soggetti deboli e in difficoltà nell’esercizio dei propri diritti.
Tale inclusione di protezione si pone a garanzia di sostegno, supporto flessibile del malato demente con attenzione precipua al suo divenire clinico, che permette di calibrare la sua funzione in base alle sue esigenze
