No full textTato diplomová práce řeší fúzi hotelových řetězců Marriott International a Starwood Hotels and Resorts a její důsledky. Cílem této práce je představit čtenáři největší hotelovou síť Marriott a dále jednu z bývalých největších hotelových sítí na světě Starwood. Dále také objasnit průběh a výsledek fúze. Autorka se zaměřila na dopady fúze na Marriott, Starwood, zaměstnance a klienty.Data byla zpracována pomocí analýzy průběhu fúze, interview vysoce postavených manažerů a dotazování zaměstnanců. V diplomové práci se podařilo vyhodnotit pozitivní dopady na Marriott a Starwood prostřednictvím porovnání ukazatele RevPAR, vyplacených dividend akcionářům a ročních reportů společnosti Marriott. Dopady na zaměstnance byly vyhodnoceny na základě zkušeností autorky, nasbírané při práci pro hotelový řetězec Marriott a dotazování ostatních zaměstnanců. Dopady na klienty byly analyzovány zkoumáním změn týkající se věrnostního programu. Přínosem diplomové práce je důkaz pozitivních dopadů fúze na Marriott, Starwood, zaměstnance i klienty.This diploma thesis deals with the merger of Marriott International and Starwood Hotels and Resorts and its consequences. The aim of this paper is to introduce the largest hotel network Marriott and one of the former biggest hotel chain in the world Starwood. It also clarifies the course and the outcome of the merger. The author focused on the impact of the merger on Marriott, Starwood, employees and clients.The data was processed by analyzing the merger process, interviewing senior executives, and questioning employees.The diploma thesis has evaluated the positive impacts on Marriott and Starwood by comparing RevPAR, dividends paid to shareholders and Marriott annual reports. Employee impacts have been evaluated based on the experience of the author, obtained during work for the Marriott hotel chain and interviewing other staff. Impacts on clients were analyzed by examining changes to the loyalty program

Compressible turbulent boundary layers with discontinuous air transpiration an experimental and theoretical investigation
No full textExperimental data are presented for the development of compressible turbulent boundary layers moving from a solid onto a transpired surface, and vice versa. The data were obtained at free stream Mach numbers of 1.8 and 3.6 (Reynolds numbers per metre of 2.45 x 10power7 and 5.45 x 10power7 respectively) and transpiration rates up to 0.0044, for nominally zero heat-transfer conditions. The results are compared with theoretical predictions obtained from a method based on the eddy-viscosity concept. The work described in this report is based on experimental investigations conducted by the author while at Cambridge University Engineering Department, and presented in a Ph.D. dissertation (Marriott)
Determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in vegetable oils using solid phase microextraction comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled with time of flight mass spectrometry
No full textA simple and fast solid-phase microextraction method coupled with comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry was developed for analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in edible oil, performed directly in a hexane solution of the oil. Sampling conditions (solvent used, extraction time, extraction temperature and fiber rinsing time) were optimized by using a sample of oil fortified with a standard solution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The method was validated by calculating linear range, correlation coefficient, accuracy, repeatability, detection limit and quantification limit. The method was applied to several oils collected from the market and directly from an olive pomace extraction plant
