No full textUsing the institutional discursive approach as a theoretical framework,
the article studies the perception that journalists working mainly on
migration have about the media coverage of that topic. Moreover, the
article analyzes how they try to legitimize themselves as an authoritative
source on the subject. To answer the questions raised, 31 semi-structured
and reconstruction interviews were conducted with Italian journalists.
The article interprets the efforts made by these journalists for their
professional legitimacy, as an opportunity to grasp their normative
beliefs and the rhetorical strategies they resort to

No full textMême dans les pays où la documentation de base est importante, en matière démographique, l'histoire de la population reste encore des plus incertaine. Depuis plusieurs années, des recherches sont entreprises en divers pays, pour combler tout au moins, les plus importantes lacunes. Nous avons, en particulier, signalé à plusieurs reprises, le plan de dépouillement de registres paroissiaux en France, du à l'initiative de M. Louis Henry. Parmi les recherches à l'étranger, il faut accorder une attention spéciale à celles de M. Jorge Nadal Oller, professeur à l'Université de Barcelone, sur la population catalane. L'édition française d'une de ses œuvres vient précisément de paraître et sera analysée dans le prochain numéro de Population. Dans l'article qui suit, M. J. Nadal décrit les travaux entrepris par les historiens catalans en matière démographique; leur importance mérite d'autant plus d'être connue qu'elle dépasse largement le cadre local.Nadal Oller Jorge.
