Millennials’ perception of destination attractiveness
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)Past studies are focused on measuring competitiveness factors that are significant to a destination, while lesser focus is provided to capturing specific tourists’ attractiveness factors. The purpose of this study was to explore Millennials’ perception of destination attractiveness (DA) and their propensity to visit a destination. The objectives of this research include 1) To explore the perceptions of the millennial tourist when deciding on visiting a destination, 2) To determine which destination attractiveness factors are significant to the millennial tourist, 3) To identify Millennials propensity to visit a destination and 4) To explore other preferences that affect propensity to visit a destination. To accomplish the purpose and objectives, millennial college students and recent graduates from multiple universities in the USA were surveyed. A total of 103 Millennials participated in the study. Descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis were used to analyze the data. The results of this study will contribute to the existing knowledge in the areas of Millennials’ propensity to visit a destination and their perception of destination attractiveness

This article reviews The implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on the events and tourism industry. The negative impact of COVID-19 on hotel performance worldwide was identified. Also, the effect of shutdown for a short period was compared worldwide. The lesson learned identifies the events and tourism trends during a pandemic and ideas for the survival of the events and tourism industry during a pandemic. Recommendations were also drawn for events and tourism professionals for advancing virtual or hybrid meetings or events during a pandemic

The purpose of the study was to investigate how the integration of service-learning and classroom instruction in a meetings and events management class influences student learning and interest in community service. The sample selection for this study was a convenience sample of the students enrolled in a Meetings and Events management course at a comprehensive Midwest university in the United States of America. The result of this study indicated that students’ involvement in service-learning enhanced students’ learning perception of event planning competence and interest in community service
Hospitality Intelligence: Evolution, Definition and Dimensions
This article reviews ‘hospitality intelligence’ as the ability to create a foundation upon which a delightful and engaging service experience can be readily delivered. The evolution of service quality leading to hospitality intelligence was identified chronologically via literature reviews. Five conceptual models of service quality that formed the basis of the key dimensions of hospitality intelligence were provided as a framework for inciting theoretical advancement and further research. The dimensions and implications of hospitality intelligence, based on the syntheses of the hospitality related psychology literature, were described for advancing the concept of hospitality intelligence and further research

The Millennial (Generation Y) Students’ Perception of Teaching Effectiveness: A Case of a Tier-One U.S. Midwestern University
The purpose of this study was to identify the selected Rosenshine and Furst (1971) factors that influence Millennial (Generation Y) student learning, and the influence of those factors and other background variables on students’ evaluations of teaching. The result indicates that the ten factors adapted from Rosenshine and Furst (1971) studies were perceived by Generation Y students to positively influence their learning. The result also indicates that great teaching skills favor good evaluation. However, students’ evaluations of teaching are a lot better when instructors combine great teaching skills with great personality, less workload, flexibility and friendliness
Generation Y and Z Perceptions of Hospitality Self-Service Technology
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of Generation Y and Z regarding self-service technology and personal service in the hospitality industry. Technologically-savvy collegiate students in the Midwestern part of the USA served as the target population for this study. The results of this study indicate that the participants believe that personal service is more important than the use of self-service technology in the hospitality industry. However, Generation Y and Z prefer the convenience and promptness of self-service technology. Practical implications of this study and recommendations for further studies were addressed

Many international DMOs have been successful when it comes to implementing and promoting sustainable tourism. This study provides the roles United States DMOs can play in promoting and implementing sustainable tourism development in the United States. Cost Benefit Analysis of Hotel Recycling Practices in India
Waste reduction practices like recycling are not only beneficial to the environment but can provide economic benefits and enhance the image of the Hoteliers. There is a need for more studies on the economic benefits of recycling practices to the hoteliers. This study investigated the cost and benefit analysis of solid waste reduction via recycling in India, by exploring eight highly rated hotels and assessing the average recycling benefits attributed to these hotels in India. The result indicated that by practicing recycling, the hospitality industry would protect the environment while generating economic benefits from waste reduction
