Ox Tasting Menu 2017
n March 2013 two long standing friends, each passionate about their craft, each with a desire to bring something new to the Belfast restaurant scene combined forces and opened OX overlooking the River Lagan.
Belfast-born Stephen and Brittany native Alain met in Paris. Working in various influential and inspirational restaurants they have honed their skills, developed their talents and percolated ideas to put into practice against the backdrop of their own relaxed riverside restaurant.
With experience gained in the Michelin starred kitchens of Paris including the 3-star Taillevent, and an enthusiastic and unique approach to seasonal produce, chef owner Stephen uses imagination and creativity to help bring fresh ingredients to life on your plate. Too long have vegetables played the part of a mere garnish; OX guarantees menus which feature top quality meat and sustainably sourced fish, while also giving careful attention to seasonal vegetables and fruit.https://arrow.tudublin.ie/menus21c/1213/thumbnail.jp

Bridging the Gap Between Ox and Gauss using OxGauss
The purpose of this paper is to review and discuss the key improvements brought to OxGauss. Without having to install Gauss on his or her machine, the OxGauss user can run under Ox a wide range of Gauss programs and codes. Even with the console Ox version (free for academics), Gauss codes can either be called from Ox programs or run and executed on their own. While the new OxGauss version is very powerful in most circumstances, it is of little use once the purpose is to execute programs that attempt to solve optimization problems using Cml, Maxlik or Optmum. In this paper we propose a set of additional procedures that contribute to bridge the gap between Ox and three well-known Gauss application modules: Cml, Maxlik or Optmum.The effectiveness of our procedures is illustrated by revisiting a large number of freely available Gauss codes in which numerical optimization relies on the above Gauss application modules. The Gauss codes include many programs dealing with non-linear models such as the Markov regime-switching models STAR models and various GARCH-type models. These illustrations highlight a further potentially interesting implication of OxGauss: it enables non-Gauss users to replicate existing empirical results using freely available Gauss codes.econometrics;
The structure and kinematics of the ox mountains, western Ireland: a mid-crustal transcurrent shear-zone
The stratigraphy, structure and kinematics of the central and southwest Ox Mountains, a major mid-crustal shear zone, are described. The tectono-stratigraphic sequence has been established using a combination of structural and stratigraphic techniques and lithostratigraphic correlation with southern Donegal (the closest area of autl ochonous Dalradian). These data suggest that the Tawneyshane Formation is the equivalent of the Port Askaig Tillite and that the metasediments of the southwest and central Ox Mountains Succession represent part of the Argyll Group of the Middle Dalradian. The coarser grained rocks of the Cloonygowan Formation are tentatively correlated with the turbiditic sediments of the Southern Highland Group on the basis of lithostratigraphic similarity. Structural analysis indicates that the Ox Mountains Succession has experienced a similar structural history to the Cloonygowan Formation although at a deeper structural level. Four distinct kinematic episodes are represented. Initial fold and fabric development (D1-D2, pre 478 Ma) was followed by sinistral transcurrent deformation, synkinematic intrusion of the Ox Mountains Granodiorite (478±12 Ma) and development of a braided system of high strain zones and tectonic slides (D3, Arenig-Llanvirn). The tectonic contact with the granulite facies metasediments of the northeast Ox Mountains is identified as a D3 tectonic slide, which dips gently to the south. This basement-cover interface strongly influences the structural geometry of the central and southwest Ox Mountains. These data suggest that at middle-lower crustal levels strike slip fault zones may be expressed as a series of high strain zones that converge both laterally and vertically. The geometry and kinematic history of the Ox Mountains is consistent with the interpretation of the inlier as the root of a major mid-crustal transpression zone. Following the cessation of transcurrent activity uplift began throughout the inlier, which is reflected by decreasing metamorphic grade and the development of conjugate folds (D4). This was succeeded by renewed sinistral transcurrent deformation of the Lough Easky and Lough Talt Adamellites (401±33 Ma), (D5, Early Devonian).Evidence is presented that the Ox Mountains form part of the northwestern side wall of the Highland Boundary Fault Zone. Deeper levels of this structure are exposed in Ireland than in Scotland. Structural data suggest that in Ireland this structure is expressed as a major mid- crustal transpression zone that developed in response to large sinistral displacements during Arenig-Llanvirn times, followed by smaller sinistral displacements during the Early Devonian. This protracted history of sinistral transcurrent deformation can be related to terrane accretion events along the Highland Boundary Fault Zone and provides information on its early kinematic history not available in the remainder of the British Isles

Growth inhibition and morphologic changes of HeLa cells exposed to unsaturated fatty acid fraction from the liver of x-ray irradiated rabbits (OX)
Biological effect of the unsaturated fatty acid fraction from the X-ray irradiated rabbit liver (OX) on HeLa cells has been observed in vitro comparing with the effect displayed on the same strain cells by the unsaturated fatty acid fraction from the non-irradiated rabbits, which is extracted by the same method as in OX, The observations have proven that OX is a powerful cytotoxin in a concentration of 0.05-0.025 per cent and induces a severe cell degeneration and cell death, resulting in a marked arrest in the growth of the cells. The similar effect has been observed by unsaturated fatty acid fraction from the nonirradiated rabbits, but the effect was much less comparing to that of OX. Possible mechanism of the cell damage by OX has been discussed.</p
A Bayesian Analysis of Unobserved Component Models Using Ox
This article details a Bayesian analysis of the Nile river flow data, using a similar state space model as other articles in this volume. For this data set, Metropolis-Hastings and Gibbs sampling algorithms are implemented in the programming language Ox. These Markov chain Monte Carlo methods only provide output conditioned upon the full data set. For filtered output, conditioning only on past observations, the particle filter is introduced. The sampling methods are flexible, and this advantage is used to extend the model to incorporate a stochastic volatility process. The volatility changes both in the Nile data and also in daily S&P 500 return data are investigated. The posterior density of parameters and states is found to provide information on which elements of the model are easily identifiable, and which elements are estimated with less precision.
