Jisc ORCID Pilot at the University of Southampton: summary report
A University of Southampton ORCID registration service has been established. Based on input from the Legal Services team, the model adopted is ‘create or link’ i.e. a University of Southampton employee can generate a new ORCID or associate their affiliation to an existing one. The service has been tested by a select group of academics ranging from different departments across the institution. Feedback was positive and enables the team to move forward to promote ORCID adoption more strongly and begin to embed the identifier into a range of institutional systems. The service is now live and is being promoted – notably by a banner message on the login screen of the institutional portal system (Sussed)

ORCID iDs in CentAUR
ORCID functionality has been added to CentAUR, our institutional repository. This means that you will be able to link your ORCID iD to CentAUR. Once you complete this process, your ORCID record will attempt to confirm your employment at University of Reading and you will be able to import and export publications between the repository and your ORCID record. If you do not already have an ORCID iD, you will be able to sign up for one using the functionality that has been added to the repository. ORCID is an open, not-for-profit, community-based initiative to provide researcher identifiers that enable a wide range of improvements to the scholarly communications ecosystem. University of Reading is a member of the UK JISC ORCID consortium.

ORCID-opoly, Where High-touch Meets High-Tech: Learning and Outreach efforts in support of ORCID Integration at Texas A&M
Poster PresentationIn February 2014, Texas A&M minted ORCiDs for 10,000+ graduate students as an ORCID member organization. In the first 9 days, about 2000 students claimed their ORCIDs, demonstrating that high tech alone is not sufficient to reach and engage campus authors to establish and curate their scholarly identities. Significant learning, outreach, marketing and other "high touch" approaches are needed to close the gap between immediate claiming of minted ORCIDs and authentic uptake and involvement with ORCID. This poster illustrates the varied approaches used by Learning and Outreach specialists and the impacts that "high touch" approaches can achieve.ORCID, Sloan Foundatio
