In a letter from September 19, 1941, Raymond R. Nicholson writes to Dan Tompkins thanking him for the content in his editorials and expressing his shame in having supported U.S. Senator Robert Rice Reynolds.E.L. MCKEE CHESTER SCOTT SYLVA SUPPLY COMPANY, INC. Merchants SYLVA, N.C. Sept. 19, 1941 Dear Dan: You very clearly expressed my sentiments in your editorial “Ignorant North Carolina”. Every word is in exact line with my thinking and while I can't express it in such clear terms. I can think such thoughts as you brought out. If Bob ever goes back to the Senate, it will be through no management of mine. I'm through with him and not only that, I'm ashamed that I ever sponsored his cause in his first campaign. Your other editorials are equally as good and I feel are doing much good at this time. Yours sincerely, Raymond R.Nicholsondelet

Reynold A. Nicholson’nun 1925 yılında yayınlamaya başladığı Mesnevî neşri bugüne kadar defalarca basılmıştır. Originally started to be published in 1925, Reynold A. Nicholson’s Mathnaw? has been published numerously up to now. But most of these, lack the correction and appendices sections which are founded at the end of the volumes of first edition. Therefore the majority of the texts known as Nicholson text especially the ones in the East have this limitation. There are major differences especially in the first two couplets in Mathnaw? texts. These differences mainly stems from some hand-written manuscripts and copies that relies on Nicholson text’s first version. Today, the studies on Mathnaw? should be based on Konya Mevlâna Museum 51th Mathnaw? manuscript and its other editions. Leading scientists including R. A. Nicholson and Abdülbâki Gölpınarlı accepts this manuscript as the most reliable and valid Mathnaw? text. In recent years there have been some Mathnaw? publications based on this manuscript
