No full textDr. Nguyen Khac Vien (78) kehrte 1963 nach 25 Jahren Aufenthalt in Frankreich nach Vietnam zurück und war bis zur Pensionierung Direktor des Fremsprachenverlags in Hanoi und Herausgeber der Studienreihe „Etudes Vietnamienne“. Er leitet heute das Zentrum für Studien in Kinder-Psychologie.(N.T.-Zentrum). Diese Nichtregierungs-Organisation ist die erste dieser Art in Vietnam und wurde 1988 von ihm und einer Gruppe von Kinderärzten und Pädagogen gegründet. Nguyen Khac Vien konnte seine politische Unabhängigkeit in allen Richtungskämpfen der KP Vietnams behaupten und genießt innerhalb und außerhalb Vietnams als Intellektueller der KP und Anwalt eines „humanen Sozialismus“ großes Ansehen. Er setzt sich seit langer Zeit mit der bürokratischen Entwicklung und Entfremdung der Partei auseinander und richtete bereits 1981 einen offenen Brief an die Nationalversammlung mit der Forderung nach Trennung von Partei und Staat. Er gehört zu den Kräften, die das Reformprogramm des VI. Parteitages von 1986 eingeleitet haben und seitdem für eine konkrete Umsetzung plädieren. In diesem Brief an die Vaterländische Front verabschiedet er sich von der „führenden Rolle“ der KP Vietnams und wirft eine Menge Fragen über den gegenwärtigen „Siegeszug der freien Marktwirtschaft“ auf

Replication Data for: Hospital-Based Prostate Cancer Screening in Vietnamese men with lower urinary tract symptoms: A Classification and Regression Tree Model

Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is a common disease in men over 65 years of age, and should be detected early, while reducing unnecessary biopsies. This study aims to construct a classification and regression tree (CART) model (i.e., risk stratification algorithm) using multivariable approach to select Vietnamese men with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) for PCa biopsy.
Methods: We conducted a case-control study on 260 men aged ≥ 50 years who visited MEDIC Medical Center, Vietnam in 2017–2018 with self-reported LUTS. The case group included patients with a positive biopsy and the control group included patients with a negative biopsy diagnosis of PCa. Bayesian Model Averaging (BMA) was used for selecting the most parsimonious prediction model. Then the CART with 5-fold cross-validation was constructed for selecting men who can benefit from PCa biopsy in steps by steps and intuitive way.
Results: BMA suggested five potential prediction models, in which the most parsimonious model including PSA, I-PSS, and age. CART advised the following cut-off points in the marked screening sequence: 18 < PSA < 33.5 ng/mL, I-PSS ≥ 19, and age ≥ 71. Patients with PSA ≥33.5 ng/mL have a PCa risk was 91.2%; patients with PSA < 18 ng/mL and I-PSS < 19 have a PCa risk was 7.1%. Patient with 18 ≤ PSA < 33.5ng/mL and I-PSS <19 have a PCa risk is 70% if age≥71; and is 16% if age<71. In overall, CART reached high predictive value with AUC=0.915. Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy of CART at the 20% diagnosis probability threshold were 91.5%, 86.2%, 86.9%, 91.2%, and 88.9% respectively; at 80% diagnosis probability threshold were 79.2%, 92.3%, 91.2%, 81.6%, and 85.8% respectively.
Conclusions: CART combining PSA, I-PSS, and age has practical use in hospital-based PCa screening in Vietnamese men with lower urinary tract symptoms.

After outlining the amelioration in rural life resulting from nearly 30 years of agrarian reform, the author discusses the organization and management of cooperative farms. He then explains how peasant participation in various collective projects, particularly the construction of hydraulic systems, has developed and contributed to the diversification and intensification of agricultural activities. These improvements in addition to educational progress encouraging the application of technical innovations have greatly improved the standard of living of millions of peasants.Après avoir donné un bref aperçu des améliorations apportées à la vie rurale par une politique agraire poursuivie sur près de trente années, l'auteur décrit la gestion des coopératives agricoles. Il explique comment la participation paysanne aux projets d'aménagement (surtout en ce qui concerne la maîtrise de l'eau) s'est développée, permettant la diversification et l'intensification de l'agriculture. Multiuser precoding in MIMO two-way relay transmission
No full textThis paper is concerned with the problem of multiuser precoding design for multiple-output multiple-input (MIMO) two-way relay transmission. In the literature, most of existing studies on multiuser transmission over two-way relay channels have assumed that user terminals (i.e., source nodes) are equipped with a single antenna. To increase the capacity of the multiuser two-way relay network, this paper introduces precoding designs at source and relay nodes for space division multiple access (SDMA) transmissions between source nodes. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed precoding designs at multi-antenna source nodes (i.e., user terminals) can improve the capacity of the network. © 2013 IEEE
