Pragmatic distributed algorithm for spectral access in cooperative cognitive radio networks
A pragmatic distributed algorithm (PDA) is proposed for supporting the efficient spectral access of multiple Primary Users (PUs) and Cognitive Users (CUs) in cooperative Cognitive Radio (CR) networks. The novelty of our PDA is that the PUs negotiate with the CUs concerning the specific amount of relaying and transmission time, the CU is granted, which the CU will either accept or decline. The CUs may serve as relay nodes for relaying the signal received from the PUs to their destinations, while both the PUs' and the CUs' minimum rate requirements are satisfied. This will reduce the required transmission power and/or increase the transmission rate of the PU. Our results show that the proposed scheme performs better than the benchmarker, despite its significantly lower overhead and complexity. Moreover, we show that the cooperative spectral access based on our PDA reaches an equilibrium, when it is repeated for a sufficiently long duration. These benefits are achieved, because the PUs are motivated to cooperate by the incentive of achieving a higher PU rate, whilst non-cooperation can be discouraged with the aid of a limited-duration punishment. Furthermore, we invoke an attractive practical adaptive Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation (ATTCM) scheme, which appropriately adjusts the code rate and the modulation mode according to the near-instantaneous channel conditions. It was found that the joint design of coding, modulation and user-cooperation may lead to significant mutual benefits for all the PUs and the CUs

[[alternative]]A Study of The Effects of the Traditional concept of Feng-Shui To the modern Engineering Behavior.
[[abstract]]This research discusses about Feng-Shui and its effect to interior design. The study focuses on the related concepts and attitude toward general people. The researcher applies several analyses, including average, standard deviation, and variance analysis to the answers retrieved from subjects participating in the survey of "Relevant Attitude toward Feng-Shui and Engineering Behavior."
The analyses are proceeded in both the overall and separated layers' prospect. The results are as following:
1. To general people, there is no difference between gender and the degree of being influenced by the concept of Feng-Shui.
2. To general people, the cognitive attitude toward Feng-Shui develops when they age.
3. The higher education general people get, the more cognitive attitude toward Feng-Shui they have.
4. The concept of Feng-Shui shows no relevant difference among the Catholics, the Christians, or atheists while it relevantly influences people who believe in the folk religion, Taoism, or Buddhism.

Comparative efficacy of THR-β agonists, FGF-21 analogues, GLP-1R agonists, GLP-1-based polyagonists, and Pan-PPAR agonists for MASLD: A systematic review and network meta-analysis
Aims: To compare the efficacy of thyroid hormone receptor beta (THR-β) agonists, fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF-21) analogues, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), GLP-1-based polyagonists, and pan-peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (Pan-PPAR) agonists in the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Methods: A database search for relevant randomized double-blind controlled trials published until July 11, 2024, was conducted. Primary outcomes were the relative change in hepatic fat fraction (HFF) and liver stiffness assessed non-invasively by magnetic resonance imaging proton density fat fraction and elastography. Secondary outcomes included histology, liver injury index, lipid profile, glucose metabolism, blood pressure, and body weight. Results: Twenty-seven trials (5357 patients with MASLD) were identified. For HFF reduction, GLP-1-based polyagonists were most potentially effective (mean difference [MD] −51.47; 95 % confidence interval [CI]: −68.25 to −34.68; surface under the cumulative ranking curve [SUCRA] 84.9) vs. placebo, followed by FGF-21 analogues (MD −47.08; 95 % CI: −58.83 to −35.34; SUCRA 75.5), GLP-1R agonists (MD −37.36; 95 % CI: −69.52 to −5.21; SUCRA 52.3) and THR-β agonists (MD −33.20; 95 % CI: −43.90 to −22.51; SUCRA 36.9). For liver stiffness, FGF-21 analogues were most potentially effective (MD −9.65; 95 % CI: −19.28 to −0.01; SUCRA 82.2) vs. placebo, followed by THR-β agonists (MD −5.79; 95 % CI: −9.50 to −2.09; SUCRA 58.2), and GLP-1RAs (MD −5.58; 95 % CI: −15.02 to 3.86; SUCRA 54.7). For fibrosis improvement in histology, GLP-1-based polyagonists were most potentially effective, followed by FGF-21 analogues, THR-β agonists, Pan-PPAR agonists, and GLP-1R agonists; For MASH resolution in histology, GLP-1-based polyagonists were most potentially effective, followed by THR-β agonists, GLP-1R agonists, FGF-21 analogues, and Pan-PPAR agonists. THR-β agonists are well-balanced in liver steatosis and fibrosis, and excel at improving lipid profiles; FGF-21 analogues are effective at improving steatosis and particularly exhibit strong antifibrotic abilities. GLP-1R agonists showed significant benefits in improving liver steatosis, glucose metabolism, and body weight. GLP-1-based polyagonists have demonstrated the most potential efficacy overall in terms of comprehensive curative effect. Pan-PPAR agonists showed distinct advantages in improving liver function and glucose metabolism. Conclusion: These results illustrate the relative superiority of the five classes of therapy in the treatment of MASLD and may serve as guidance for the development of combination therapies
Vascular endothelial growth factor restores delayed tumor progression in tumors depleted of macrophages
Genetic depletion of macrophages in Polyoma Middle T oncoprotein (PyMT)-induced mammary tumors in mice delayed the angiogenic switch and the progression to malignancy. To determine whether vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) produced by tumor-associated macrophages regulated the onset of the angiogenic switch, a genetic approach was used to restore expression of VEGF-A into tumors at the benign stages. This stimulated formation of a high-density vessel network and in macrophage-depleted mice, was followed by accelerated tumor progression. The expression of VEGF-A led to a massive infiltration into the tumor of leukocytes that were mostly macrophages. This study suggests that macrophage-produced VEGF regulates malignant progression through stimulating tumor angiogenesis, leukocytic infiltration and tumor cell invasion

Un estudio teórico de dicha reacción se ha llevado a cabo en el presente trabajo mediante DFT (con un funcional B3LYP y una base 3-21G*). Se comprueba que a este nivel de cálculo, los resultados teóricos están de acuerdo con los resultados experimentales, y se plantea la posibilidad de una segunda fluoración, no detectada experimentalmente.[(1) Harvey, B. Near-capacity turbo trellis coded modulation design based on EXIT charts and union bounds
Bandwidth efficient parallel-concatenated Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation (TTCM) schemes were designed for communicating over uncorrelated Rayleigh fading channels. A symbol-based union bound was derived for analysing the error floor of the proposed TTCM schemes. A pair of In-phase (I) and Quadrature-phase (Q) interleavers were employed for interleaving the I and Q components of the TTCM coded symbols, in order to attain an increased diversity gain. The decoding convergence of the IQ-TTCM schemes was analysed using symbol-based EXtrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) charts. The best TTCM component codes were selected with the aid of both the symbol-based union bound and non-binary EXIT charts, for designing capacity-approaching IQ-TTCM schemes in the context of 8PSK, 16QAM, 32QAM and 64QAM modulation schemes
PSA density improves the rate of prostate cancer detection in Chinese men with a PSA between 2.5-10.0 ng ml -1 and 10.1-20.0 ng ml -1 : a multicenter study
Chinese men should have a higher prostate-specific antigen (PSA) "gray zone" than the traditional value of 2.5-10.0 ng ml−1 since the incidence of prostate cancer (PCa) in Chinese men is relative low. We hypothesized that PSA density (PSAD) could improve the rate of PCa detection in Chinese men with a PSA higher than the traditional PSA "gray zone." A total of 461 men with a PSA between 2.5 and 20.0 ng ml−1 , who had undergone prostatic biopsy at two Chinese centers were included in the analysis. The men were then further divided into groups with a PSA between 2.5-10.0 ng ml−1 and 10.1-20.0 ng ml−1 . Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the efficacy of PSA and PSAD for the diagnosis of PCa. In men with a PSA of 2.5-10.0 ng ml−1 or 10.1-20.0 ng ml−1 , the areas under the ROC curve were higher for PSAD than for PSA. This was consistent across both centers and the cohort overall. When the entire cohort was considered, the optimal PSAD cut-off for predicting PCa in men with a PSA of 2.5-10.0 ng ml−1 was 0.15 ng ml−1 ml−1 , with a sensitivity of 64.4% and specificity of 64.6%. The optimal cut-off for PSAD in men with a PSA of 10.1-20.0 ng ml−1 was 0.33 ng ml−1 ml−1 , with a sensitivity of 60.3% and specificity of 82.7%. PSAD can improve the effectiveness for PCa detection in Chinese men with a PSA of 2.5-10.0 ng ml−1 (traditional Western PSA "gray zone") and 10.1-20.0 ng ml−1 (Chinese PSA "gray zone")
