Neil Cohen’s Contribution to Uniform Secured Finance Law
This Article discusses Neil Cohen’s contribution to uniform secured finance law and, in particular, to the UNCITRAL Model Law on Secured Transactions. It does so by focusing on the misgivings Neil Cohen had expressed before, and his reflections on those misgivings after, the preparation of the Model Law. The discussion presents Neil Cohen as is generally known, as a distinguished scholar, but also as he is known to his friends and colleagues, as a person with rare qualities

Neil Rolde, who ran an unsuccessful campaign against U.S. Senator William Cohen
Neil Rolde, who ran an unsuccessful campaign against U.S. Senator William Cohen in 1990, has been elected chairman of the Seacoast Shipyard Association, the independent lobbying organization trying to save the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard from closure. At least one Navy document reportedly calls for closing either Portsmouth or the Norfolk Naval Shipyard next year, and Rolde met with the congressional delegations of Maine and New Hampshire to set the stage for a successful lobbying campaign. Moments of discrete orthogonal polynomial ensembles
We obtain factorial moment identities for the Charlier, Meixner and Krawtchouk orthogonal polynomial ensembles. Building on earlier results by Ledoux [Elect. J. Probab. 10, (2005)], we find hypergeometric representations for the factorial moments when the reference measure is Poisson (Charlier ensemble) and geometric (a particular case of the Meixner ensemble). In these cases, if the number of particles is suitably randomised, the factorial moments have a polynomial property, and satisfy three-term recurrence relations and differential equations. In particular, the normalised factorial moments of the randomised ensembles are precisely related to the moments of the corresponding equilibrium measures. We also briefly outline how these results can be interpreted as Cauchy-type identities for certain Schur measures
University of Louisiana at Monroe's (ULM) Ichthyology Collection Database
In spring of 2017, administrators at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM, historically NLU – Northeastern Louisiana University) made the decision to get rid of their natural history collections, including their large fish collection of 74,441 specimen jars that represents the life’s work of Dr. Neil Douglas, author of Fishes of Louisiana (1974), and other ULM biologists. Those specimens were divided and deposited in other regional collections including the University of Texas' Biodiversity Collections. The Microsoft Access files provided here, together, are their collection catalog and provided as they were received. The files document when and where the specimens were collected and who collected them

Judith Cohen, art historian and author of Cowtown Moderne
Author and art historian Judith (Judy) Cohen sits on a reproduction Le Corbusier chaise from her personal collection of Art Deco style pieces. The railing seen behind her is made from a decorative grill from the restaurant in the Striplings building and the grate on the wall in the background is from the Aviation Building, which was located at Seventh and Main streets. She is the author of the book Cowtown Moderne.https://mavmatrix.uta.edu/specialcollections_startelegram1990s/1123/thumbnail.jp
Re-activating British Ceramic Manufacture’s Intangible Heritage
Brownsword was invited by the Stoke And North Staffs Women's Network to deliver a lecture surrounding his ongoing artistic mediation of the histories of ceramic manufacture in Stoke-on-Trent. The lecture focused upon craft knowledge within industry that remains endangered/unviable for contemporary production, raising questions surrounding the value of inter-generational skill - as negotiated through his FACTORY project, shown as part of Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale (GICB) 2017.
‘Neil Brownsword creates installations using ceramics, film and performance. His work takes the ceramics industry of his native Staffordshire as its primary subject, observing its people and production systems. He has sought to challenge the marginalisation of craft skill in industrial contexts, and to highlight the danger of specialist knowledge being lost. Recent work has been made in collaboration with former industry artisans, revealing their people-embodied skills and exploring the value of the industry's intangible cultural heritage. Brownsword was awarded the Grand Prize at the 2015 Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale, South Korea’.

Reviving the Realist Restatements and the Common Law Codes: Neil Cohen and the Grand Style
The “Second” Restatements and the Uniform Commercial Code have shaped the sensibility of lawyers and law students for the last half century. Both projects were anti-formal at their core, articulating pragmatic principles to guide judicial decision making without necessarily determining the outcome. Recent jurisprudence interpreting the Restatements, as well as efforts to update both sets of instruments, have taken a formalist turn. As examples, this essay will consider judicial interpretations of § 402A of the Restatement (Second) of Torts where internet platforms like Amazon are involved. Then it will consider the tortured and recently concluded experience in connection with the Restatement (Third) of Contracts – Consumer Contracts. Finally, it will offer an appreciation of Neil Cohen, the draftsman, and describe his crucial role in the most recent round of Restatements and UCC revisions
