Basni: I.A. Krylova, With a Biography of the Author
The complete text of the fables is followed by a list after 298 of the fables arranged by the years in which they were written (1806-36) and then an alphabetical index. The volume is in fair to poor condition. The cover (cardboard boards) is worn and the spine damaged. There are about thirty-five good illustrations, signed by Panov and Braun or something very close to that, presumably the engraver. I do not have many illustrated editions of Krylov. Among the best of the illustrations here are The Monkey and the Spectacles (26), FK (37), Monkey (83), The Lion A-Hunting (133), The Knight (155), Lion and Wolf (158), Wolf and Shepherds (178), Ass and Rustic (190), Lambkin (210), and Squirrel (253). The set of texts seems to fit perfectly with Pares' standard edition. There is a Russian bookseller's label on the inside front cover. This is a hardbound book (hard cover)Language note: Russian18th complete editionUnder the editorship of V. Kenevic
Implementation of the I.S. EN 16001:2009 energy management standard into GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Ltd, Cork
As manufacturers face an increasingly competitive environment, they seek out opportunities to
reduce production costs without negatively affecting the yield or the quality of their finished
products. The challenge of maintaining high product quality while simultaneously reducing
production costs can often be met through investments in energy efficient technologies and energy
efficiency practices. Energy management systems can offer both technological and best practice
efficiencies in order to achieve substantial savings.
A strong energy management system provides a solid foundation for an organisation to reduce
production costs and improve site efficiency. The I.S EN16001 energy management standard
specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy
management system and represents the latest best practice for energy management in Ireland. The
objective of the energy management system is to establish a systematic approach for improving
energy performance continuously. The I.S EN16001 standard specifies the requirements for
continuous improvement through using energy more efficiently.
The author analysed how GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Cork
implemented the I.S. EN16001 energy management system model, and defined how energy saving
opportunities where identified and introduced to improve efficiency performance. The author
performed an extensive literature research in order to determine the current status of the
pharmaceutical industry in Ireland, the processes involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing, the
energy users required for pharmaceutical manufacturing and the efficiency measures that can be
applied to these energy users in order to reduce energy consumption. The author then analysed how
energy management standards are introduced to industry and critically analysed the driving factors
for energy management performance in Ireland through case studies.
Following an investigation as to how the I.S. EN16001 energy management standard is operated in
GSK, a critical analysis of the performance achieved by the GSK energy management system is
undertaken in order to determine if implementing the I.S EN16001 standard accelerates achieving
energy savings.
Since its introduction, the I.S. EN16001 model for energy management has enabled GSK to
monitor, target and identify energy efficiency opportunities throughout the site. The model has put
in place an energy management system that is continuously reviewed for improvement and to date
has reduced GSK’s site operations cost by over 30% through technical improvements and generating
energy awareness for smarter energy consumption within the GSK Cork site. Investment in I.S.
EN16001 has proved to be a sound business strategy for GSK especially in today's manufacturing
environment
GENRE АND POETICS OF I.S. SHMELYOV AUTOBIOGRAPHIC ESSAYS
The article is devoted to researching of genre nature of I.S. Shmelyov’s autobiographic essays «Leto Gospodne» and «Bogomolye». The main thing is a «soulbuilding» of young man. So one can define the genre as «psychological novel» or «psychological short novel». And also they are «pedagogical novels»: the «ideal tutor», Gorkin, uses the pedagogics of love and virtue founded on Christian doctrines. The author describes also the poetics of Shmelyov’s works based on child’s world outlook connected with colour and sound sensations
System of characters of I.S. Turgenev's novels "Fathers and Сhildren" and F.M. Dostoevsky "Crime and Punishment" (comparative analysis)
The author gives a comparative analysis of the characters system in the novels by I.S. Turgenev and F.M. Dostoyevski, shows a typological similarity of the novels by two writers, examines a range of textual coincidences in their works
„Plan świata” i motywy postępowania bohatera literackiego (I.S. Turgieniew i J. Byron)
The paper is aimed at understanding peculiarities of behavior of the Russian literary character. The analysis of the early romantic poem Steno by I.S. Turgenev is defined by its imitating of Byron's Manfred. At the same time, the author of the paper indicates items of difference in the “architectonics of actions” as it is viewed by the Russian and English literary character
To a Question of Studying Lyrical Prose (on the Material of I.S. Turgenev's Cycle Notes of the Hunter)
In the article the subject approach is used to research the images of the nature in I.S. Turgenev's Notes of the Hunter. The author shows how the diversity of author's ego, the author's opinion about the world is embodied in Turgenev's landscapes; therefore the lyrical saturation of epic text is formed

The Princess in the Castle: Challenging Serious Game Play for Integrated Policy Analysis and Planning
What are the principles that make societal problems socio-technically complex? And, even more important, how can we support public policymaking in the wake of socio-technical complexity? In The Princess in the Castle, the author investigates if, why and how serious games and game-like simulations (SGs) can support integrated policy making and planning, especially in relation to managing rivers and oceans. She argues that ‘playful methods’ are particularly suited to surround sophisticated analysis with extensive participation. The book contains many examples and illustrations but centres on: the Climate Game, used in a neighbourhood reconstruction project incorporating climate adaptation measures; The Blokkendoos Planning Kit, used in the Netherlands’ planning project Room for the River for integrated flood management; the MSP Challenge, used to further the development of integrated, eco-system based marine spatial planning. The book provides a de- and re-construction of the ‘principles of play’ that underlying integrated policy analysis. The perceived usefulness of game-like tools in the Dutch and Chinese policy contexts is empirically studied. The author concludes that serious games for policy-making and planning are powerful methods with largely untapped potential. Yet, without room to play they can be easily turn into ineffective and expensive toys. Qiqi Zhou is a researcher at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.
