Turbulent drag reduction using wall jets at flight scale Reynolds number
Numerical experiments have been performed for modelling turbulent drag reduction due to active-control of wall jets using a linearised Navier-Stokes model in a turbulent boundary layer formed over a flat plate at Re _τ = 905 corresponding to flight scale Re_x = 10^6 . Its effect have been seen on transient growth of near-wall streaks and production of turbulent kinetic energy (TKE). Two sets, one corresponding to span wise slot and other corresponding to wall jets along the whole plate have been performed. Simulations are performed by varying magnitude of wall jets, its angle & locations and based on a measure of TKE, reduction in stream wise turbulent kinetic energy is recorded
Electrical injuries of the oral cavity: A menace to mankind
The rarest of its kind, the electrical injuries of the commissure areas of the mouth pose a potential threat in terms of management to the practitioner. The most commonly affected young toddlers, in their teething period, chew onto the female end of the live extension wire cord. Saliva which acts a medium transports the electrical current to the fragile mucosa of the oral cavity thereby leading to the treacherous burn injuries. Since children have an overall lower fat component and different surface area to volume ratio, which impacts on the risk of deep tissue damage compared to adults with equivalent injury. The review outlines: (1) A detailed review of literature reflecting the various treatment modalities proposed by different practitioners worldwide and (2) the prosthetic therapy for the conservative management of the electrical injuries of the oral cavity
Gene diversity among some endogamous population of Amravati District, Maharashtra, India.
The present work deals with the distribution of ABO, Rh and sickling alleles as markers to study the genetic structure and micro-demarcation among castes and tribal populations from the Amravati district of Maharashtra. Three loci namely, ABO, Rh and sickling were selected to measure the relative frequency of respective alleles in ten (10) endogamous populations inhabiting the Amravati District. The ABO locus was found to be less polymorphic when compared with other loci. On the other hand, Rh and sickling loci were found to be more polymorphic. Construction of a dendrogram using allele frequency data reveals an interesting relationship among the caste and tribe. An analysis shows three major clades comprising A, B and C. Clade A comprises Islamic Dawoodi Bohra and Hindu Gujrati. Clade B comprises the upper castes, Brahmin, Jain, Kashmiris and Kunbis, while Clade C shows Gonds and Katchhi. This study is a first attempt to provide a genetic landscape of castes and tribes inhabiting the Vidarbha region. The findings are discussed in light of the historical, anthropological and genetic data available for the studied group

Noninvasive plasticity paradigms, both physiologically induced and artificially induced, have come into their own in the
study of the effects of genetic variation on human cortical plasticity. These techniques have the singular advantage that
they enable one to study the effects of genetic variation in its natural and most relevant context, that of the awake
intact human cortex, in both health and disease. This review aims to introduce the currently available artificially induced
plasticity paradigms, their putative mechanisms—both in the traditional language of the systems neurophysiologist and
in the evolving (and perhaps more relevant for the purposes of stimulation genomics) reinterpretation in terms of

A review on wound healing properties of Tinospora Cordifolia
Wound healing is the body’s natural process of regenerating dermal and epidermal tissue. The healing cascade is activated when platelets come into contact with exposed collagen leading to platelet aggregation and the release of clotting factors resulting in the deposition of a fibrin clot at the site of injury. . Objective Structured Clinical Examination an Overview
Objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) is gaining widespread recognition as a means of assessing the clinical skills and other aspects of the experience of health professionals. OSCE is rapidly replacing other forms of assessment at all levels of medical and health professional education. Since its development, its use has become widespread as the standard for performance-based assessment, particularly in the undergraduate examination. OSCE has been in practice in many parts of the world with favorable outcomes and has proven to be a reliable and valid assessment tool. It has been adapted to assess multiple skills like physical examination, history taking, communication skills, technical skills and interpretation of laboratory results, radiographs and ECG etc. The use of more complex cardiovascular simulators and anatomical models has further expanded the skills that can be tested by OSCE. Although it demonstrates certain advantages over other forms of assessment but has proved to be labor-intensive and time-consuming. At present, it is successfully being used in Pakistan for undergraduate and postgraduate examinations at various medical schools.
