Natural Resources Conservation Service Locator Map for Block Diagrams
The Natural Resources Conservation Service Locator Map for Block Diagrams contains more than 3,750 block diagrams (line drawings) from published soil surveys. Most of the diagrams relate soils to landscape positions. Each point on the interactive map indicates the location of a soil survey area for which a block diagram is available online. Click on an individual point for details. The points do not indicate a specific location illustrated by a diagram. Only one point is shown per survey area. In many cases, more than one diagram is available per survey area. A detailed spreadsheet provides information on all available diagrams.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Web Soil Survey web application
The Web Soil Survey (WSS) provides soil survey maps and information through an online, interactive mapping tool. It is operated by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The WSS is used by agricultural producers, conservationists, planners, engineering firms, government agencies, and others to explore properties, features, suitabilities, and limitations of soils and to view descriptions of ecological sites. Soil maps and associated data are available for more than 95 percent of the counties in the United States.
A user is able to select an area of interest through a variety of methods, including defining an area on a map, selecting an area from menus, searching on keywords, or importing a shapefile. The user can access a wide range of detailed information, including chemical properties, physical properties, erosion factors, water features, and ratings for building site development, sanitary facilities, and vegetative productivity. The resulting soil map and associated information can be printed, downloaded, or saved for download later.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Soil Data Viewer
Soil Data Viewer is a tool built as an extension to ArcMap that allows a user to create soil-based thematic maps. The application can also be run independently of ArcMap, but output is then limited to a tabular report. The soil survey attribute database associated with the spatial soil map is a complicated database with more than 50 tables. Soil Data Viewer provides users access to soil interpretations and soil properties while shielding them from the complexity of the soil database. Each soil map unit, typically a set of polygons, may contain multiple soil components that have different use and management. Soil Data Viewer makes it easy to compute a single value for a map unit and display results, relieving the user from the burden of querying the database, processing the data and linking to the spatial map. Soil Data Viewer contains processing rules to enforce appropriate use of the data. It is a guide only and does not imply or set Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) policy. The Irrigation Guide includes current information and technical data on irrigation systems and hardware, automation, new techniques, soils, climate, water supplies, crops, tillage practices, and farming conditions. Included are irrigation related technical data for soils and irrigation water requirements for crops. Planning for an irrigation system should take into account physical conditions of the site, producer resources, cropping pattern, market availability, water quantity and quality, and effects on local environment. Economics should provide the basis for sound conservation irrigation decisions, but may not be the ultimate consideration. This is because many other factors may influence final decisions
