No full textThe essay analyzes the connections between the governments of Italy and Chile during the Sixties. In particular, it discusses the relationship between the Italian Christian Democratic Party (DC) and the Partido Democrata Cristiano de Chile, making use of yet unexplored primary sources, such as the correspondence between the party leader, Eduardo Frei Montalva, and some leading exponents of the DC (Fanfani, Moro, Bernassola, Freato among them). The author seeks to explain the motivations behind the decision of the so-called "dorotea" faction of the DC to commit itself politically and financially in a distant geopolitical context. which was, with the exception of Cuba, still under the exclusive influence of the United States

Full text linkThis article offers some thoughts on receiving the Chilean events and contradictions that characterized the behavior of the majority party in Italy, and placed in check by their responsibilities and divisions of Chilean Christian Democracy on the occasion of the 1973 coup. Directly related to this problem, we analyze the lack of Reconnaissance of the military junta by Italy. These two topics are mainly discussed in the immediate weeks the conquest of power by the military.Este artículo propone algunas reflexiones acerca de la recepción de los acontecimientos chilenos y sobre las contradicciones que caracterizaron la conducta del partido de mayoría relativa en Italia, puesto en jaque por sus responsabilidades y por las divisiones de la democracia cristiana chilena en ocasión del golpe de estado de 1973 . En relación directa con este problema, analizaremos la falta de reconocimento de la junta militar por parte de Italia. Estas dos temáticas se analizan principalmente en las semanas inmediatamente sucesivas a la conquista del poder por parte de los militares golpistas
