Process for the oxidation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons to hydroperoxide catalyzed by N-hydroxy derivatives in the presence of a solvent which includes recovering the catalyst from the oxidation mixture by the possible removal of the solvent by distillation and/or cooling of the oxidation mixture, with the consequent precipitation and filtration of the N-hydroxy-derivative catalyst, and absorption with non-basic adsorbing solids for the substantially complete recovery of the catalyst

La presente invenzione riguarda un processo per la produzione di fenolo e chetoni alifatici.
In particolare, gli alchilaromatici vengono convertiti al corrispondente idroperossido mediante ossidazione aerobica selettiva in condizioni blande in presenza di un nuovo sistema catalitico a base di N-idrossiderivati.
Il catalizzatore viene recuperato al termine del processo ossidativo dalla miscela di reazione mediante precipitazione e/o adsorbimento su resine adsorbenti, successivamente lavate con opportuni solventi polari, mediante un processo qui descritto e rivendicato per questo scopo.

Shear strength degradation due to flexural ductility demand in circular RC columns
An analytical model was developed to estimate the shear-strength degradation and the residual capacity of circular reinforced concrete (RC) columns subjected to seismic action. The proposed model is an upgrade of a previously proposed model for axial force N, bending moment M and shear force V (N–M–V) interaction domain evaluation for rectangular and circular cross-section RC elements subjected to static loading. The model was extended to the case of circular cross-sections subjected to seismic actions with limitation of the range of variability of the deviation angle between the directions of the stress fields and the crack inclinations, as a function of the amplitude of the flexural ductility demand. Numerical evaluation of resistance domains for circular RC columns having the current structural configuration, like bridge piers, highlights the increment in the risk level induced by shear strength degradation due to flexural ductility demand

Survey on Videos Data Augmentation for Deep Learning Models
In most Computer Vision applications, Deep Learning models achieve state-of-the-art performances. One drawback of Deep Learning is the large amount of data needed to train the models. Unfortunately, in many applications, data are difficult or expensive to collect. Data augmentation can alleviate the problem, generating new data from a smaller initial dataset. Geometric and color space image augmentation methods can increase accuracy of Deep Learning models but are often not enough. More advanced solutions are Domain Randomization methods or the use of simulation to artificially generate the missing data. Data augmentation algorithms are usually specifically designed for single images. Most recently, Deep Learning models have been applied to the analysis of video sequences. The aim of this paper is to perform an exhaustive study of the novel techniques of video data augmentation for Deep Learning models and to point out the future directions of the research on this topic

The play operator on the rectifiable curves in a Hilbert space
The vector play operator is the solution operator of a class of evolution variational inequalities arising in continuum mechanics. For regular data the existence of solutions is easily obtained from general results from the theory of maximal monotone operators. If the datum is assumed to be a continuous function of bounded variation, then the existence of a weak solution is usually proved by means of a time discretization procedure. In this paper we give a short proof of the existence of the play operator on the space of rectifiable curves making use of basic facts of measure theory. We also drop the separability assumptions usually made by other author
