Adam Pavel Slavata (1603-1657)
No full textIn the bachelor thesis author tried to describe the life fate of the South Bohemian aristocrat Adam Pavel Slavata (1603-1657) in context to the period events at the beginning of the 17th century. Author mainly focused on different concepts of life between Adam Pavel and his father Vilém Slavata of Chlum and Košumberk (1572-1652), which came after the divorce of Adam Pavel and Marie Markéta of Eggenberg in the early 1630´s. The reverse of life was mainly reflected in Adam Pavel´s views on the ruling court in Vienna and the court career, which was essential to Vilém's life. Adam Pavel left the Imperial court permanently and settled in Nová Bystřice, where he managed over the Slavata dominion, together with the officers who worked in Jindřichův Hradec and in Telč, during the Thirty Years War. Author used the personal correspondence of Vilém Slavata from Chlum and Košumberk, which is stored in the Family Archives of the Slavata in the department of the State Archives of Třeboň in Jindřichův Hradec. Based on extensive scientific literature on nobility, written especially by Petr Maťa and Václav Bůžek, author has compiled the life story of the individual from the highest circles of the society

In Muslim al-Naysābūrī (d. 261/875). The Skeptical Traditionalist, Pavel Pavlovitch studies the life and works of Muslim b. al-Ḥajjāj al-Naysābūrī, the author of the famous collection of traditions (ḥadīth) al-Musnad al-ṣaḥīḥ (The Sound Collection), which Sunni Muslims rank as the third most authoritative source of legal and theological norms after the Qurʾān and Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl al-Bukhārī’s Ṣaḥīḥ.
Based on multiple biographical sources and Muslim’s extant works, Pavel Pavlovitch studies hitherto unexplored aspects of Muslim’s biography, elaborates on his founding contribution to the science of ḥadīth criticism and examines the transmission history of Muslim’s Ṣaḥīḥ in unprecedented detail. The monograph includes the first systematic study of Muslim’s traditionalist theology, which played a defining role in the formation of Sunni identity.</p

SIX AREAS IN THE BIRTH ROOM FOR BETTER BIRTH PRACTICE
No full textŽenska se mora zavedati prednosti babiške oskrbe v primerjavi z zdravniško, ko govorimo o zdravi nosečnici in normalnem poteku nosečnosti ter poroda. Ker v Sloveniji še vedno velja zdravniško voden model oskrbe za zdrave in patološke nosečnosti, je babicam ob vstopu ženske v porodno sobo težje vzpostaviti zaupljiv odnos. Pri delu nas vodijo nizi smernic in protokolov, ki morajo ustrezati času in kraju dogajanja in ki jih po potrebi opustimo oz. prenovimo.
Komunikacija igra izredno pomembno vlogo v procesu rojevanja. Prvi stik je ključen za vzpostavitev zaupanja in sodelovanja med babico in porodnico. Zaradi trenutne ureditve zdravstvenega sistema v Sloveniji je babici onemogočeno, da žensko in njene želje spozna pred porodom. Zaradi tega mora ob prvem stiku pridobiti čim več informacij, da se lahko bolj približa porodnim željam in porodnico ustrezno zaščiti med procesom rojevanja. Pomembna je tudi prenatalna priprava. Med porodom bi morale imeti ženske z nizkim tveganjem prosto izbiro o prehranjevanju in pitju, zato ni upravičeno, da jim zdravstveni delavci to omejujemo. Po porodu je potrebno gledati tudi na udobje otroka, zato omogočimo prvo/posvečeno uro in stik koža na kožo med novorojencem in mamo. S tem pripomoremo k procesu navezovanja, stabiliziranju in prilagoditvi novorojenca na zunajmaternično okolje ter izboljšamo osnove za uspešno vzpostavitev dojenja. Nepotrebne intervencije preložimo za vsaj eno uro, intervencije, kot so nameščanje identifikacijskih zapestnic, prekinitev popkovnice, rojstvo placente, oskrba porodne poti, kontrola krvavitev, pa lahko izvedemo tudi, ko je otrok na maminih prsih. S prekinitvijo popkovnice počakajmo vsaj 90 sekund, verniksa novorojencu v porodni sobi ne odstranjujemo, s prvim umivanjem pa počakajmo 24 ur.
Izpostavljena področja so pomembni dejavniki za porodno izkušnjo tudi pri patoloških nosečnostih in medicinsko vodenih porodih. Prepoznati moramo, kdaj fiziološko preide v patološko, ob tem strokovno odreagirati in se zavedati, da je lahko tudi medicinsko dokončanje poroda lepa in dobra porodna izkušnja, če smo profesionalni, multidisciplinarno delujemo in imamo ustrezen odnos do porodnice.: Women should be aware of the benefits of midwifery care compared to medical treatment when it comes to healthy pregnant women and a normal course of pregnancy and childbirth. A medically managed model of healthy and pathological pregnancy is still valid in Slovenia, so midwifes have a more difficult task to establish a trusting relationship when a woman enters the delivery room. Our work is guided by sets of guidelines and protocols that have to be taken care of to match the time and place of the events.
Communication plays a very important role in the process of giving birth. In Slovenia, a midwife is prevented to meet the birthing mother before childbirth due to the current health care system. Therefore, the first contact is crucial to establish a trusting relationship so the midwife can guide the woman through the birthing process properly. During labor, women with low risk should have a free choice of eating and drinking, and therefore health workers are not entitled to limit that. After birth, it is necessary to consider also at the comfort of the child, so it is essential to enable the first hour after birth and thus skin to skin contact between the newborn and the mother. For the newborn it is important for metabolic habituation, bacteriological point of view, thermoregulation, stabilizing the heart rate, breathing, breastfeeding and ultimately family bonds. Cord clamping should be done at least 90 seconds after birth, vernix should not be removed in the delivery room and the first washing should be done at least 24 hours after birth.
The exposed areas are important factors to influence the birth experience also in pathological pregnancies and in medically controlled childbirths. The only problem is that with time we can fall into the routine, we work in an unmotivated environment, with not enough staff who would allow safe and quality treatment. We are faced with a number of complications and can sometimes forget the basic areas affecting birth practices and women\u27s experience

The testimony of this witness to the conquest of Aceh by the Dutch is all the more worthy of interest as it depicts the horrific realities of the clashes Its author was free from prejudice, as he was unacquainted with the dispute.
